This charming pair of lotus shoes are from northern China and date to the late Qing Dynasty. The delicately embroidered flower goes across the toe of each shoe and the wide ornate woven band forms a cuff around the top of each shoe.

Unusual 19th century small Chinese soapstone double seal of square section, one with sunken, the other with raised characters. This is a small and thinly potted Song Dynasty (960 – 1276) small yingqing bowl. It stands on a short glazed foot rim and base rising to an everted c-shaped glazed body stopping short of the rim. Both the rim inside and outside of the bowl is unglazed exposing the porcellanous body.

The small yingqing bowl has abrasion, glaze crazing, pin holes and a small chip on the rim which can be seen in all the pictures. There is no repair or restoration...

An Arita blue & white porcelain dish decorated with a pavilion and poetry, an equestrian and servant in the foreground. The dish is moulded with a shallow ‘rinka’ edge. The back is plain and has three spur marks within the foot-rim.

An identical dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection Vol.4, #303 where it is dated to 1770~1800.

Approximately 17.8 cm diameter. The dish has some light wear from normal use but is otherwise in fine condition...

Three gods of fire which are unglazed earthenware made of clay. Fire has been thought as sacred and gods of fire have been put near furnaces, cooking stoves (kamado) and open fireplace (irori) for protecting from disasters and uncleanness.
