An antique blue and white Imari porcelain decorated with landscapes and ginko leaves. The landscape is portraying the view of the noted Song Dynasty literati scholar, Su Dongpo having a boat ride at Red Cliff. The motif is based on a hand scroll written by Su Dongpo reminiscing of the fun he had with his friends and the poems that were composed. A finely moulded Arita dish the upper third painted with a simple landscape containing a flowering Japanese Apricot, ume, symbolic of Winter partially “obscured” by the rim of the dish and Bell flowers, kikyo, Gentian, symbolic of Autumn. Antique Japanese bronze mizusashi with lid, decorated with waves. The mizusashi is a vessel used during the Japanese tea ceremony to hold water. The body of the container has a dragon's head on each side with a bronze ring. The lid is decorated with a band of waves, the handle is rounded. Meiji period, 1868-1912. True original bronze Vessal It measures 10" tall with lid, 6.5" wide at opening 11" at widest point (dragon to dragon handle).

This porcelain dish is in the shape of an abalone shell with underglaze blue and overglaze enamel decoration. It is raised on a low footring with an underglaze blue four character mark reading, “Made in the Great Ming.” There is minor glaze wear to the interior and minor firing flaws. There are no cracks or restorations.
