These very well carved and designed ivory statues are an early 20th century product. The emperor wears a court necklace and dragon robe. This late 19th century Chinese carved ivory statue is 8 ½ inches tall and 3 ¼ inches at its widest part. It depicts a sage sitting under a pine tree holding a teacup and a book. A young servant holds a teapot standing at his side. The seal on the bottom ¡° Great Ming, Chan Hua¡± is merely an honorific seal. It is in good condition.

Late 19th century Chinese fan shaped ivory carving with stand. One side depicts a well known battle scene from “ A Tale of the Three Kingdoms”; the other side presents an etched picture of two dragons. It is in excellent condition. It is 4 5/8 inches high (7 ¼ inches with stand), 10 ¾ inches wide and half of an inch thick.

This Chinese ivory court tablet is an extremely rare piece. It is a late Ming Dynasty (1368~1642) product. It is almost 19 ½ inches long, ¼ inch thick, 3 inches wide on one end and 2 inches wide on the other end. There are quite a few hairline cracks, several small chips and one repaired split.

This ivory carving of the goddess of mercy, Guan-Yin, is an early 20th century product. It depicts Guan-Yin holding a pearl in one hand and a vase in the other. There is a tiny sitting Buddha in her hair. It is 9” high (with fitted hard wood base it is 10” high), 2 ½” wide and 1 1/8” thick. The carving is superb and it is in excellent condition.

This very well carved Chinese ivory bead and green glass necklace is a 19th century product. It is 38” long and contains 78 ivory beads and one large glass bead. Originally, carved ivory beads were part of court necklaces in Qing Dynasty. The ivory beads are ½” in diameter; the glass bead is ¾” in diameter. Aside from minor wear due to its age, it is in great condition.

This well carved ivory maiden is an early 20th century product. It is 8 ¼” high (with wood base it is 9 ½” high), 2 ¼” wide and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts a young lady holding a crane (or egret) in front of her. Aside from an age crack on the front and a tiny piece missing from her hair piece, it is in great condition.

These ivory statues were carved around the late 19th century or early 20th century. The eight immortals are Chinese legendary figures. From left to right, they are: Lan Cai-He, Cao Guo-Jiu, Lu Dong-Bin, Li Tie-Guai, Zhang Guo-Lao, Han Xiang-Zi, Han Zhong-Li and He Xian-Gu. The walnut base is 18 inches long, 2 ½ inches wide and 1 ½ inches high. The figures are 4 ½ inches tall. They are in good condition except for two small repairs...

Description: An ivory niche was kept in very good condition. By an enduring old patina, the lovely niche was carved exquisitely in the front for decoration. Intriguingly making use of the original hole of the ivory tusk for hanging, it was obviously used as a portable niche for devoted people. This early 20th century ivory carving of a maiden is 15 7/8” high (17 ½” with base), 3 ½” wide and 2 7/8” thick. She wears a simple and elegant robe and holds a bouquet of flowers in front of her. The carving is superb and has nice patina. The wood base is a later made piece. Aside from some small hair line cracks due to its age, the statue is in great condition. This late 19th century ivory carved Buddha with two children is 8 ½ inches tall, 3 inches wide and about 2 inches thick. It depicts a smiling Buddha (Hotai) standing on a rock, his left hand is holding prayer beads; his right hand is holding a small fruit. There are two young boys sitting on his shoulders. The statue is mounted in a frame, like a shadow box. The framed piece is 11 ½ inches tall, 6 ½ inches wide and 3 inches thick...

19th century Chinese export hand carved ivory fan. The front and back ribs are carved with a garden scene. The inside ribs are carved with a lace pattern. Beside some minor flaws due to age, it is in a very good condition. L: 10 ¼ inches, W: 18 inches (open)

This early 20th century large export carved ivory goddess of mercy (GuanYin) is 18” high (with carved wood stand it is 20 ½” high), 4” wide and 3” thick (measured from the base). Her right hand holds a branch of willow leaves; her left hand carries a basket filled with lotus blossoms. A phoenix is standing on her side and a tiny sitting Buddha with a fire halo is in her dark, braided hair. There is an honorable Qian Long mark carved on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

Description:

An ivory tray was carved decently with plum branches, leaves, flowers and insects.
By excellent workmanship, the delicate piece was believed originated from high ranking society or even palace's collection of early Qing periods.

This late 19th or early 20th century ivory carved Shou Xin (or Shou Lao, the symbol of longevity) is 12” high, 3” wide and 2 ½” thick. It depicts Shou Xin holding a peach in one hand and dragon head cane in the other. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century Chinese ivory statue of a bearded scholar is 5 ½ inches tall and 3 inches wide at the widest part. His eyes are half closed; he holds a scroll gently against his cheek. There are two characters read as ¡°Da Ming¡± on the bottom. The inscription means ¡°Great Ming Dynasty¡± which is quite common on ivory carvings or porcelain. There are a few hair line cracks due to the age of the piece. Over all, it is in great condition.

This late 19th century Chinese carved ivory doctor¡¯s lady is 4 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 inch thick. Her right hand is leaning on her head and her left hand is resting on her chest. There is a dark line (the center of the tusk) running the length of her side. Her whole body has slightly yellowed due to the age of the piece. She is in excellent condition.
