Of rectangular form with sliding lid. The top and reverse differently carved with the rose and nightingale "gul-u-bulbul" motif. The undecorated mirror is not fixed. Condition: few traces of usage, the mirror glass with some imperfections. Dimension: 19.3 cm x 12.8 cm, weight: 324 g.

The entire surface of this box is covered with a Persian floral design executed in pure gold overlaid on steel. The interior is fitted with silk moire sections. The lid is hinged and has a lock but no key. The base is undecorated steel. There is an area on the lid that is rubbed and some of the gold is lost.

Wide, double-edged blade with thin central raiser, base with two cartouches bearing gold-inlaid inscriptions in Arabic; iron, two-pieces grip with langets, quillons faced towards the blade ending in stylized elephant's heads. Antique 19th century Indo Persian Qajar dynasty Islamic ceramic tile of oval form, finely hand painted under a clear crackle glaze depicting a hunting scene with a courtly male dressed in a splendid dress with spear hunting antelopes on horseback in companion of a hound dog, set in a mountainous landscape.

The ground textile is a dark woolen flannel "inlaid" with pieces of colored fabric and embroidered in silk yarn in different colors. The embroideries from Rasht in Gilan Province were made by professional male embroiderers. Cotton lining, silk fringes. Dimension: diameter (without fringes): 142 cm, fringes: c. 8.5 cm long. Condition: fine, little faded, minimally stained.

Persian antique khatamkari marquetry chess/backgammon board. Opens to be used as either chess or backgammon board. Made with inlay of many different woods to create decorative and useful intricate patterns. Khatamkari is an ancient Iranian technique of marquetry inlay.

A fine collection of Persian armor and weapons, which includes the "Khulah-kud" (helmet). With its original ziggurat fringe chainmail, engraved nose guard, and gilt pointed finial. Fashioned with decorative mounts for plumes or feathers. The helmet is damascened in gold with Koranic text and arabesque floral, and bird motif.
