An interesting large terracotta idol figurine of either astarte or a priest´(?), Syro-Hittite, dating to the mid-later period of the 3rd. millenium BC.

The pillar figure with large round eyes with slits and applied details of mouth and beak-like nose. Angular shoulders and a monolithic body with her hands and delineated fingers placed over the breast and a necklace. The figure also wears an interesting conical cap or hat, a rarer feature for these figures.

A wonderful pottery bowl, in a original state for type with Pseudo-caligraphy, Islamic, ca. 10th.-11th. century.

A larger conical bowl both wide and tall and decorated with stylized pseudo-caligraphy in black on beige glaze all around the interior and a line in green near the rim. Inscribed with old hand from the collector in the bottom 'Nichapour'.

Size: 25 cm. wide and 11 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice for type. A few cracks restored, but much original glaze...

A nearly superb Islamic Sgraffito pottery bowl, Bamiyan, c. 12th cent AD.

Nice earthenware bowl with incised decorations in the interior. Beige/white underglaze with green and brown decorative colors in splashy designs.

Of rounded form with flaring sides and upright rim.

Condition: Nearly superb for type and age. Intact with a few old chips to rim and exterior...

A lovely larger Persian Cockerel-headed Ewer, late 12th or 13th century AD

Stonepaste ware under an opaque turquoise glaze. Wonderful 'grazing' of the glaze with irriscence.

Condition: Nice Very fine for the type, almost 100% original glaze, repair to handle and a smaller few chips to the rim.

Late 19th century export Chinese kidney shaped dish with a celadon ground featuring a bird, flowers, and butterflies in vibrant enamels. Condition is excellent, no breaks, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs. Measures 10.5" across by 8.25", and 1.5" high.

A fine set of the earliest types of bronze Manillas socalled Slavetrader bracelets, Africa, Nigeria, 16th.-18th. cent. AD.

These were made and used as currency well up in the 19th. century, but our selection are very old! These come with exceptionally fine jade like patinas and were wrongly sold as European bronzeage bracelets.

Large and early terracotta pipe bowl, BAMILEKE or TIKAR, Cameroon Africa. Gritty terracotta clay with losses as seen. Size 7.75" by 4"

This is a fantastic example of an early bronze dagger blade with handle rivets still present and intact. This type was common to large areas of the Middle East from present day Greece across to Iran. It has a triangular blade with prominent midrib and a very short, flat tang. The patina is a gorgeous mixture of greens and browns with a hint of blue. This is a truly rare opportunity to acquire an excellent piece at a reasonable price. Don't miss it!!!!

19th century mixed material netsuke in kagamibuta (mirror lid) form. The top is bronze with medium relief fierce dragon twisted around the Precious Gem. Wonderful quality metalwork - see its face, claws and crisply incised differentiated scales. Warm patina, beautiful fat bowl, swinging metal loop at the back for the cord. Diameter 2 1/16 inches.

Tall Chinese Neolithic Qijia Culture Pottery Jar

This tall and attractively-shaped pottery vessel was made around 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Qijia Culture in eastern Gansu province, China dating from approx. 2050 - 1700 BC. It is relatively highly-fired. The lower surface has been decorated with repeated vertical lines whereas the upper surface has been burnished to a smooth finish...

19th century Asakusa school staghorn netsuke in a form of a bowl of ogival section, decorated with an incised keyfret design along the rim. Exquisite subtle piece, one of the most elegant netsuke that I have had. Superb precise carving, warm brownish patina, brown lacquer on the inside, early himotoshi design. Natural darker porous areas of staghorn perfectly imitate scarred surface of an old ceramic bowl...
