A Chinese, celadon, twin-fish dish from the Longquan kiln; Southern Song to Yuan dynasty. Carved with a lotus-petal design to the exterior, and covered all-over in a beautiful sea-green glaze, apart from the outer base which has burnt reddish. Dimensions; 12cm diameter. This is a tall Song dynasty (960 – 1276 A.D) yingqing or qingpai meiping or plum vase. A Chinese bronze two-handled vase cast in relief with mountains, masks and ribbons, 28 cms., Song/Yuan dynasty, 12th/13th century. Unusually large for a vase of this type, it has had the base plate removed and put back, like many such vases for some reason.

A Yuan Dynasty octagonal "belimbing shaped" jarlet which most likely represents the so far best existing piece of its kind. Please look in any private - or Museum collection and you will not find a better example.
