Antique Japanese ikebana basket, all hand-woven with sections of bamboo. The body is a cylindrical shape, narrowing towards the bottom four short feet. The handle is made with natural Wisteria branches. The interior holds two small wooden containers to hold beautiful arrangements of flowers.

This is Japanese antique silk vest of the yosegire patchwork of the Edo era(1800-1867). It is dyer's Safflower dyeing itajime (katazome)and katazome and shibori. Set of three large graduated Japanese Arita porcelain serving bowls, each decorated in underglaze blue with a landscape scene featuring a temple set against craggy mountains and trees. A flowing band of scrolling foliage encircles the exterior. Late Meiji Period to early 20th century. Base marked. In diameter, each measures: 10," 8 7/8" and 7 1/2." An abalone shaped dish decorated in underglaze blue with trailing Clematis vine, Tessen. The dish is in “Ko Sometsuke” style based on porcelain specifically produced in China for the Japanese market in the first half of the seventeenth century and made to Japanese specifications. The back wall is decorated with four foliage sprays. A two-character mark within concentric rings on the base translates “harmony jade.” 17th century (transitional to Kangxi period). 8” diameter x 1 1/2” high...

Pair of Chinese export Canton tea caddies in hexagonal form, blue and white with traditional landscape and geometric banding, 6 carved feet, glazed bottoms, original lids. Measure 5" wide, 6 1/4" high and 3" deep, slight variation in sizes and shapes. Surface of caddies is slightly dimpled with the "orange peel" appearance to the glaze, all decoration in under glaze blue. Hexagon shape, with landscape scenes on front and back, hand painted with slight differences...

With silver in the midsection, mounted with coral and torquise, large silver folliage mounts on the top and bottom, bone suspension and a finely polished hardwood handle. Note also the silver lotus buc at the top. Guaranteed authentic old.
