19th century netsuke of widely smiling Okame enveloped in her robe and holding a large wooden spoon in her hands, with a removable round bottom revealing the shunga part of the netsuke. Excellent carving, especially the face with its wide smile, wonderful flow of her robe. The dots on her forehead are inlaid with brown horn. Great pattern to the flow of her robe, expert staining, beautiful patina. Wonderful sculpture - all that a good netsuke should be...

Beautiful opaque black glass snuff bottle, carved into the shape of a hand with pressed "fingernails", with thumb and pinky extended and all other fingers curled inwards. 19th century Size: 2" tall, 1.5" wide

A lovely depiction of Buddha enthroned, interesting early provincial SE Asian style, c. 15th.-17th. cent. AD.

The style is very attractive with a beautiful painted visage with serene features. The style looks mostly like provincial Thai, but we're not certain. The figure has much age and a fine dark gilt patina.

Chinese gilt and enameled export porcelain plate, 18th century period, brightly decorated with birds, butterflies, insects and flowers. Size; Diameter of this fine plate is 8 inches, in very good condition.

Antique Tibetan gilt bronze figure of the Buddhist deity Kubera, lord of wealth, protector of the physical world. He lounges with piles of gold around him. In one hand he holds a mongoose, who is said to spit jewels. The mongoose shows rule over the Naga (malevolent snake people and guardians to vast treasure). Kubera is shown seated on his vehicle, a large beast atop a lotus pod throne.

Early 19th century Kyoto school netsuke of a seated shishi (Buddhist lion) hugging a large ball. Strong early piece, wonderful ferocious face, powerful oversized paws with beautifully defined claws, eyes are inlaid with brown horn, loose ball in its mouth. Excellent hairwork (see its mane and bushy tail), old age lines, deep differently sized himotoshi, beautiful wear and patina consistent with age, pleasantly fat, great sculpture. Height 1 5/8 inches.

Antique Japanese 2 panel byobu screen painting of a stag. The male deer stands below the overhanging branch of a moss covered maple tree, chrysanthemums and other flowers growing underneath. Beside them, a vibrant blue river, carrying away the bright red maple leaves in its currents. Pigment on silver leaf.

This is a Yuan Dynasty(1277-1367) celadon covered box. The top cover has a double circle with radiating club shaped like a sun ray all round. Just below it, is the design of foliage circling the all round. The flower part of the covered box also has foliage design design followed by a club shaped motif. The colour of the top half is lighter than the lower half of the covered box.

The covered box has minor abrasion and minute pinholes. No chip, crack, repair or restoration...

19th century netsuke of a toad, a snake and a slug on rockery with bamboo grass. The subject of the netsuke is sansukumi: a combination of a snake, which eats a toad, which eats a slug, whose slime is poisonous to a snake - thus forming the circle of deaths. Beautiful rendition of textures - the skin of toad and snake, bamboo and rock surfaces. Warm patina and very pleasant wear to the surface, himotoshi (cord openings) are very cleverly carved as irregular holes in the rock...

An antique Japanese Yonezawa Kasane Kimono Tansu (stacked chest on chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Beautiful Ume (Plum Blossom) motif on lock plates with a nickel rim. Four large drawers with a hinged door that hides two small drawers. Constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. Hand forged iron hardware with Mokko handles...

This is a finely potted Qing dynasty blue and white shallow dish. It has a pair of phoenix soaring in the sky. On the base it has a four character mark "Zhing Tang Fu Chi". This date the dish to the late Qing dynasty, possibly Guangxu period - late 19th century to early 20th century.

Generally in good condition. No chip, crack, hairline or repair. Only a pin hole as shown in picture no.4.

The diameter is 13.3cm and the height is 4.3cm.

Late 18th to early 19th century Kyoto school netsuke of a dog wearing a collar with its head turned back while resting the front of its body on a ball. Strong piece, superb carving to the last detail, fantastic hairwork, beautiful flow to its tail and bumpy spine, large eyes inlaid with dark horn. Wonderful wear and patina consistent with age, great classic netsuke. Height 1 13/16 inches.

Shan State Burmese Bronze Buddha on a Tapered Throne, touching the earth with his right hand and holding a dish of food in the left hand. Early 19th Century, nice patina, good condition, size: H. 25cm x W. 12cm x D. 8cm

A Burmese architectual temple carving. Would have been mounted within the structural supports of the temple design. Original pigment of gold and red show well and are vibrant. Hand carved with multi colored glass beads imbedded within each detail.
