Antique Japanese small lacquer safe box with hinged door and 3 small interior drawers. Decorated on all sides including the drawer fronts with detailed harakusa (octopus vine) design in fine maki-e lacquer on a dense nashiji ground. The drawers are covered on all sides in fine nashiji gold flakes. Hardware is made of silver and incised with a similar scrolling vine motif.

Antique Indian gilt copper repouse plaque depicting many scenes from the life of Buddha. Starting just before his birth (upper left hand side) with the white elephant that descends from heaven with the buddha and enters Maya between her ribs as she sleeps. Moving to the upper left corner, we see the miraculous birth of Maya's fully formed baby out of her side. She is depicted holding onto a tree branch during birth like a yakshi tree spirit...

This is a very charming kimono made of thick cotton from the Meiji era. The outer material is stencil dyed, and the back side is asamai-shibori cloth with indigo dyeing. It's a technique called aigaeshi. There are no stains or damage, and the condition is very excellent. Recommended for your collection. An antique Japanese Kotansu (personal storage chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware with a Paulownia family crest front lock plate. Two hinged doors open to an array of 8 small drawers each used organize the previous owner's collection of smalls. The iron stand (a recent addition) was used to raise this chest off of the floor to make it into the perfect side table.

19th Century Chinese Rock Crystal Carved Lohan & Fu Dog Lion with Silver Inlay Wood Stand

It is 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall measured with stand and 6.1 inches (15.5 cm) tall measured without stand by 4.3 inches (11 cm) wide. The crystal weighs by itself is 2.1. Total weight including stand is 2.4 lb.

The rock crystal has small and flea bite chips, inclusions and surface wears and scratches. The silver inlay wire is loose and has surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).
