It is extremely difficult to find a Khmer Tazza and still much more difficult to find a Khmer Tazza in a fine condition like this. Stoneware covered by a very nice iron brown glaze which shows due to its high age an rainbow effect. Khmer, Cambodia, 12th century but excavated in Indonesia. H : 13,4 cm. Diameter : 24,2 cm. Condition : Very nice. No crack. Some glaze - splinterings to the underside of the base which are to see on the last enlargements.

This is a nice celadon Longquan plate with the twin fish pattern, glaze intact but with natural manufacturing defect of bubbles bursting and small defect of crack during firing, still nice rare muzeum piece.....

Description:

A white-glazed water coupe was well mold in nice shape and was nicely decorated on the surface with carved lotus petals patterns.
In creamy white tint, the surface was spread with characteristic darken glaze drops which the Din wares would own.
On the mouth rim, it was unglazed.the body clay was revealed with incursioned burial earth...

Antique Thai Iron Standing Buddha, early Ayutthaya period 14th century, heavy oxidation but still delightful. The right hand is raised from the elbow in Abhaya with the hand in Gyan mudra, the left is holding possible a sacred medicine ball. These are five extremely rare copper skull bells/pendants that were found in an elite tomb at Monte Alban, Oaxaca in 1936. Each bell in about 1/2". They date to 1000-1500AD. Copper was mined largely from Guerrero. No cleaning or restoration, exactly as found. A must have for any pre-Columbian metallurgy collection.

An interesting Cambodian cast bronze statuette representing the Hindu god Vishnu standing with his 4 arms. The bronze bears an excellent original patina which confirms the dating, 12th century Khmer art.Typical clothing and jewelry. The Asian Art Museum houses a superb similar statue, a photo of which is attached. A wooden plinth was made around 1900 to stabilize the statue. Height without the wooden base: 115 mm (4.5 inches).

This is a very fine and extremely rare pipe from Venezuela known as a pipas angulares de barro procedentes. There is only one book written on Aztec pipes. "Pipas Precortesianas" was written by Muriel N. Porter. Porter states that Aztec pipes are extremely scarce and "we can almost say that pipes were unknown." There is a drawing in this book of this class/type of pipe. Of course, tobacco wasn't available until the Spaniards introduced it...
