Large Federal style giltwood girandole mirror with convex glass, surmounted with a fully figured, carved and ebonized eagle with outstretched wings above an acanthus leaf crest. Early 20th century. Size: 42 inches width x 11 inches depth x 55 inches height. The convex mirror measures 22 inches in diameter and is encircled by bands of gilded balls and ebonized stars, between four girandole electrified candle arms. This mirror is in excellent original condition and has modern wiring.

This sophisticated design is the work of the Polish workshop of ORNO, in Warsaw, made ca. 1965. The curved, open, ovular pendant has a slight twist to it, exposing the highly oxidized interior to all sides, so there is no back or front.
