Staffordshire pottery cottage bank, 19th century, with applied floral garland around door. Size: 4.5" ht. x 4.25" wide x 2.25" deep. Overall crazing to glaze, and a more pronounced craze line encircling one of the chimney bases, though it does not appear to be a crack. Rare and beautiful sterling duck pendant with original chain by Antonio Pineda. The body of the duck is a cabachon aventurine and the eyes are black onyx. The head and tail are articulated. A handsome Blanc De Chine of Da-Mo seating figure in fine detailed. Qing dynasty 19th century De-Hua ware, seal mark on the back side. Condition with a chip, further in perfect shape. High: 15 cm.

 

This large powder horn would have been used by a Yi ethnic minority hunter in the hills of China's Sichuan Province. It was carved and shaped from 2 pieces of wood joined together. The surface was then decorated with traditional patterns using lacquer paint. The attached rings provided an attachment for a shoulder strap (missing) and the access hole has a bamboo stopper.

Command attention in these dramatic onyx and mother of pearl earrings. They measure 23 x 30 millimeters overall with an impressive 13 x 18 cabochon onyx in the center of each mother of pearl oval, all set in 14 kt gold. The posts on the reverse are made extra secure with omega backs to keep them fitting snugly.
