Diamond-shaped pieces of green chalcedony are set in hand-formed wide prongs. The stones are nicely polished and in excellent condition. The screw backs are original to the earrings and in good working order. You don't have to be a warrior princess to wear this Sigi cuff yet you do need a certain sense of daring, don't you think? This is one of those pieces that illustrate in the best possible way Sigi's ability to seek out ancient motifs and forms and convey them anew through the eye of the modernist artist. The cuff fits perfectly around the wrist and the abstract overlay stands out against the oxidized background even though it has itself acquired a wonderful patina over the years...

An excellent example of the Los Ballesteros taller's work combining silver with simulated synthetic alexandrite, this is a hinged "dimpled dot" bracelet holding two huge faceted gems in big crown settings. The stones are open-backed and they change color under different light conditions going from a deep clear amethyst to a steely purple. The bracelet has an inner circumference of 6 3/4" and its width varies between 2" in the front and 5/8" in the back...

A sweet, summery set by Los Castillo featuring dramatic repousse flowers - I like to think they are daisies for some reason - comprised by the necklace and matching clip-on earrings. I suspect that whoever owned this necklace previously had the earrings turned into clip-backs and for some reason the jeweler elected to use silvertone findings...

A superb example by my favorite "heart" artist, again inspired by Margot de Taxco's beloved koi fish designs this is a pair of earrings worthy of the best collection! One cannot fail to admire the confident, pronounced repoussage and the crispness in detail and finishing - both qualities that characterize the work of only the best maestros...

Difficult to find, especially with its hourglass charm still attached to it, one of Margot's most sought-after, avidly collected, time-themed bracelets. I love the fleshiness of the Roman numerals and the architectural quality of the hourglass charm itself - please not the "beading" that represents the sand in it...

I have seen this brooch years ago with Fred Davis's signature and was a little surprised at the almost cartoon-like design at the time so the memory stayed with me since. And when I recently came upon the demi of brooch and earrings (you can see both pieces in the next to last photo), I held my breath - only to find Eagle 22 yet no FD initials on the back of the pieces. Unfortunately, Davis is famous for not being as meticulous as Spratling in having all his jewelry marked with his signature... ...

The marrying of sterling silver with 18K gold is a favorite in vintage jewelry from Peru yet this bracelet is a rare opportunity to own an enameled piece that combines sterling and 18k figural appliques. Made by Old Cuzco, one of the best names in vintage Peruvian jewelry, this is indeed a rare bracelet. Though from time to time one will find smaller enameled examples, like brooches or pendants, enameled necklaces and bracelets are truly difficult to come upon. The bracelet at hand measures 6 ...
