A very unusual Katana held in a saya (scabbard) made to look like a gnarled branch cut into a poor man’s cane. When pulled a spring-loaded mechanism releases two iron flanges creating a very effective tsuba hand guard. The blade is unsigned, measuring Nishaku nissun nibu {26-1/2 inches (67.3 cm)}. The remnants of a piece of paper remain glued to the saya with the name Masaaki Noma (?) written in cursive Roman letters, followed by UZUMASA, an area in Kyoto city...
An Early American Queen Anne tiger maple highboy of a rare, small size. Circa 1760. New Hampshire origin. Size: 39 inches wide x 62.5 inches high x 21.5 inches deep. This two-part highboy is fashioned from strongly figured tiger maple, with pine secondary woods. The flat top upper chest features a dovetailed cornice molding and two drawers over three graduated drawers; the base with three drawers and supported on cabriole legs with pad feet...
The cover has a small loop with a center hole. The teapot has a "C" shaped handle with a gentle curving spout on the opposite side. The inside has been left unglazed with one square hole for the pouring spout.

Chinese plaque done in Qianjiang style with a crane flying over with a tree in the scene. There is a poem written in black ink in the upper left corner with a seal in iron red below it. The plaque has an overall orange-peel effect on the surface.
Condition is very good, no breaks or cracks. Some minor wear to the enamels

The spherical body consisting of two hemispheres, locked together by a bayonet fitting. Each half reticulated with five roundels, two of them stylized shou characters and inlaid with floral motifs in mixed metal. The insert of ring gimbals with the central bowl is missing. Brilliantly colored riders charge into rushing water on the gold leaves of this 18th century six panel screen relating the famous charge at the Battle of Uji Bridge. Tatsuna and Kagesue charge forward into the waters riding toward the enemy lined up on the opposite shore of the Uji River; the skeleton of the bridge visible in the back-ground. The screen measures 173 x 377 cm. (68 x 148-1/2 inches) each and retains the original Edo backing paper, with strong hinges and a good brocade border...
A cylindrical porcelain brush pot. The exterior painted in famille verte qianjiang enamels with an outdoor setting surrounded by mountains. A seal and several lines of calligraphy complete the brush pot. The base left blank.

Condition: Very good condition, no major breaks or chips. In one of the pictures, it shows that the cover and base do not sit properly. They actually do, but for that picture, the cover was not correctly rotated in it's correct position on the base.

We are offering a rare Matilde Poulat bracelet that is 7 in. long and 1 7/8th inches tall. A large piece with a carved onyx center stone with no cracks or chips. This is marked with the old MATL block and 0.900. It has a most unusual swirl to the bottom of the chin and on the top right a swirled spray. The puffy repousse is open backed and shows the work on the underside. Many early ones are made in this fashion. Patina is present and lovely...
The short flared rolled mouth over broad shoulders with the sides tapering to a rounded foot. The crackle consisting of golden thread and iron. The glaze is silky to the touch. The inside left unglazed as well as the base.
The base contains an older collection id number previous to my purchase.

Originally this stick mand had wooden arms and silk clothing. These figures were only used for members of the imperial family and were forbidden for ordinary people. H. 58 cm. (60 cm. incl. stand). With TL-report from Ralf Kotalla.
Each vase with slightly flared mouths over extensive landscapes very well painted that depict a mountainside with figures, trees, pavilions and a meandering river. The base contains a Jurentang mark in 4 characters written in over-glaze blue surrounded by double squares.
The approximate size of these vases are 11-1/2" high by 6" diameter.
The condition of these vases are very good, no breaks or cracks.

A famille rose yellow ground minyao bowl with underglaze blue Daoguang sealmark and of the period. Decorated to the exterior in vibrant enamels with four exotic blossoms, including lotus, peony, hibiscus and orchid among scrolling foliage, all on a bright lemon yellow ground. The interior left blank.

A Chinese Ming longquan Zhejiang celadon censer. Robustly potted bombé sides, the exterior is decorated with a cross hatched pattern, the bowl standing on three feet.
Dated to Ming Dynasty - 16th century

Condition: In generally very good condition. No major breaks or chips. There are some very minor surface imperfections due to the use of the item, but nothing that detracts from it's beauty.
Glazed all over in iron rust with the exception of the base ring which has been left unglazed.
This brush washer is unmarked and age has been approximated at 18th century.
In very good condition with normal wear use present on the inside. One small glaze kiln flaw on the base but this does not detract from it.
