This vivid Mino Iga tea bowl is made by renowned Japanese ceramist Yaemon Kato (b.1942)
The mark of the potter is carved near the foot ring.

Yaemon Kato, a third son of Juemon Kato (1894-1974), continued his father's efforts to revive and restore Mino ceramic art working on Shino, Kiseto, Oribe, Mino Iga, etc.

Kaneshige Toyo is no doubt one of the most important Japanese potters in 20 century and the first Bizen artist to be awarded with Living National Treasure title in 1956.
He is considered as the founder of modern Bizen pottery and at the same time he is known for successfully recreating the sheen of Momoyama Bizen pottery.

An exquisite black clay guinomi from Tokoname engraved with white lines by Shibata Yoshiaki enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 2-1/2 inches (7 cm) diameter and in excellent condition.
Yoshiaki is credited with having discovered the secret of this black clay, now in use by any number of atists in Tokoname. He was born in 1946, and apprenticed under Living National Treasure Yamada Jozan, becoming one of his top pupils...

Elegant Hagi chawan with white to faint lavender ash glaze over slip and daido clay body. Classic turned foot, kodai with cut notch and impressed seal.

Though marked, I have been unable to read the seal and identify the potter. What I can say is this chawan is definitely post-war, circa 1960 -1970 and very much resembles the works of Sakakura Shinbei XII and Saka Koraizaemon XII from that time period.

This bowl measures 5" X 3.25" and is in great condition. No Box.

This large and rather colorful kohiki chawan was made by Ogawa Tetsuo a specialist in slips and Korean slipware of which this pot is a classic example. The surface of the teabowl shows off a wide array of colors and visual textures with areas of gohonde fawn spots and a translucent, waxy ash glaze coving the pot. The richness of the surface makes this a rather stunning piece by Ogawa with much more activity than seen in many of his teabowls...

This rare Ido chawan is glazed in a milky ash, Hagi style glaze and was presumably made at the kiln of the Tenryu-ji temple (Kyoto-yaki) as it bares the seal of the kiln. The clay was made using ground roof tile, a piece brought back from China which is explained in the accompanying paperwork provided with the chawan...

Large Aka-raku style chawan with excellent modeling and spatula work with a perfect, small kodai on which the bowl balances giving it a wonderful lift upward. Measuring in at 13.5 x 9.5 centimeters, this chawan has an exceptional posture and balance, feeling great in the hand and appearing larger than the dimensions would indicate...

A perfectly thrown and golden glazed contemporary Kutani Chawan made by one of the best Kutani-yaki artists, Hasegawa Suiko - please see! The beauty of the painted poetic motifs is simply breathtaking. Waves, a crescent moon and a toki, the Japanese crested ibis bird, so significant for Japan. The exceptional purity of the golden glaze is not found in any other work by Suiko as high class as in this tea bowl.

A sculptural form covered in iconic Iga Kiln effects by Toyosaki Nobuhiko of the Korin-kiln in Mie prefecture enclosed in the original signed wooden box. On the convex shoulder, green glass pools crystalline, while a smattering of goma (sesame) ash clings to the bulbous side, gray charring and plenty of flying ash to fill in the blanks.
