A playful work with a dancing rim and lively colors like the yukata clad dancers at traditional Bon-Odori dance festivals of August by Tanimoto Kei enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Chawan.  In the glaze rising up are tendrils of smoke, like the wispy veils rising from burning Incense coils.  Inside is entirely coated in thin green ash.  A wonderful work.

Exceedingly well fired Shigaraki mizusashi resembling two ash covered stacked stones. This ash and charcoal covered mizusashi is an enigma. The signature is illegible but the piece is obviously a work of one of the most talented Shigaraki potters of the post-war period. Possibly Furutani Michio, Ueda Naokata or Juho, Sugimoto Sadamitsu or at least someone of that caliber. I will leave the sleuth work to the next owner.This piece is positively medieval in appearance...

This is everything we could hope for in a bowl by this esteemed artist, Kakurezaki Ryuichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuro Chawan . Very nice set of small kaiseki or sushi plates from the Bishu-gama kiln made by Bizen potter Yamamoto Soshu (Munehide).
