A large ceramic sculpture by Yamaguchi Mio titled O-ga-tamanoki The O-gatama no Ki is a tree usually found within shrine precincts which is said to invite the gods to come. Mio often finds her inspiration in teh natural world, or that space between the natural world and the world beyond. Elegant and rare Ouji celadon chawan by master potter, Ono Kotaro. The interior is carved with a wispy and lyrical floral decoration and the exterior has lotus blossom leaves surrounding the base, around the footring. The Ouji glaze is a very pretty but subtle yellow celadon in person.

This chawan measure 14 x 7cm and is in perfect condition with its original signed box.
