Kon fires an anagama type kiln in Niigata but his works are decidedly Shigaraki in tradition and effect. His chawan start at 140,000 yen and can fetch up to 220,000 yen.

This very robust and Momoyama influenced vase was made by Mino potter and part magician, Hori Ichiro. Thrown out of a grainy, off white mogusa clay and decorated in blades of grass on the front and side, the pot was finished off with Hori's classic Shino glaze and fired in his wood kiln. Though difficult to see in the photos, there is a sheen around the neck, mouth and other areas created by a very thin layer of ash has adhered to the surface making for a very interesting addition to the glaze. ...
