Francois - Coro tried to give their costume jewelry a "French" touch and Francois was chosen as the name for their higher end jewelry. The line was introduced in 1933. But the line only lasted until 1944 when it was replaced by Vendome as Coro's Couturier division.
Francois was one of the new designers at Coro in 1938.

This 14K brushed gold trifari necklace sometimes carries the crown mark and sometimes it does not. I have seen it both ways.
It is well constructed to lay perfectly on the neck. It is approximately 12" without the 2" extensions.
Fabulous vintage beaded necklace in turquoise and jewel tone beads, circa 1965. Marked CADORO on an attached metal hang tag at the spring ring clasp. With seamless Lucite beads in two shades of turquoise, goldtone metal spacers and findings, and amazing huge poured glass beads in glowing jewel tones, including red, green, peach, cobalt, and amber. This Juliana banjo / mandelin pin is 2 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide. It is in excellent condition.
This elegant depiction of a Wiener Dog is c. late 1940’s. The sterling silver vermeil and marcasites compliment the beautiful ropetwist, open wirework of the body. The ear is set with marcasites, as is the eye. The back is marked “ALICE CAVINESS” and “STERLING GERMANY” on applied plaques. The pin measures 2” (from snout to tail) x 1/2". This wonderful piece is in excellent condition.

This unsigned Hattie Carnegie "Elephant in the grass" brooch is spectacular. It has lots of attention to detail. This elephant is done with a black resin body, gold tone metal trunk and tusk, sparkling clear rhinestone marquises and crystals, green emerald grass stems. It has an open back which is riveted in places. It is 3" x2" . Like new condition.
