A fascinating pair of Irish sterling silver cufflinks, the faces formed from flattened spheres of carved rock crystal set in a silver band. The faces are joined with solid connectors to ball backs. The mountings are indistinctly marked with Irish hallmarks and also have a maker’s mark “RK”.

A streamlined, classic design of an oval amber mounted in a bezel setting. The cuff links appear hardly worn; the amber exhibits no scratches or other signs of wear. The anchor buttons are undecorated silver; the hinge is in good working order and the bridge bars are secure. They are marked 835 for silver content, with a maker’s mark of a stylized fish, probably for the German firm of Fischlandschmuck. The amber buttons measure ¾ inch by 5/16 inch.

Round two-sided cuff links ringed with inlaid cobalt blue enamel in a scalloped decoration and a central engraved grid pattern. They are well made with a nice heft; connecting rings and bridge bars are secure. Some of the grid pattern has worn off, as shown in the photos. Each button measures 5/8 inch in diameter. There appear to be worn marks on the connecting rings; the bridge bars are marked 800 to indicate silver content. Weight: 8.9 grams total

Silver gilt cufflinks encrusted with 2.2 carats of rose-cut pyrope garnets. The garnets have beautiful color, without being too flashy. The settings and overall workmanship is very nice. The toggle backs have Czech hallmarks for 900 silver.

Formed as a dollar sign, this money clip is of a high quality in terms of thickness and workmanship. It bears the mark of R. Blackinton & Co., of North Attleboro, MA. This particular mark was reportedly used 1900-1967, so the piece is dated conservatively. There is also a number, 2555 H, on the back. The clip has a warm patina, indicating some age, but very few signs of wear. There is a tiny imperfection at the bottom of the dollar sign, from either an impact of some kind or a manufacturing flaw...

A fine pair of modernist silver cufflinks by master Danish designer Niels Erik From. The large concave round faces are each set with a round amber cabochon in a dark reddish-orange color approaching that of cherry amber. These 1960s cuff links are formed as square buttons, with diagonal scores enhanced by oxidation. They are hollow, but have a substantial feel and a nice heft. The larger buttons are marked Taxco; there is no sterling mark but all of the buttons test as sterling silver. The large buttons measure just over ½ inch square; the small ones, just under ½ inch square. Weight: 10 grams total

A wonderful pair of Modernist sterling silver cufflinks from Taxco, the center of Mexican silver jewelry production in the 20th century. The design is strongly geometric, but has an organic quality as well--almost like a leaf shape. The interiors are nicely oxidized to contrast with the appliqued silver spheres. The backs are hallmarked with the "3M" mark attributed to Miguel Melendez' output from the late 1950s and early 1960s...
