A fascinating pair of Irish sterling silver cufflinks, the faces formed from flattened spheres of carved rock crystal set in a silver band. The faces are joined with solid connectors to ball backs. The mountings are indistinctly marked with Irish hallmarks and also have a maker’s mark “RK”.

These 1960s cuff links are formed as square buttons, with diagonal scores enhanced by oxidation. They are hollow, but have a substantial feel and a nice heft. The larger buttons are marked Taxco; there is no sterling mark but all of the buttons test as sterling silver. A wonderful pair of Modernist sterling silver cufflinks from Taxco, the center of Mexican silver jewelry production in the 20th century. Formed as a dollar sign, this money clip is of a high quality in terms of thickness and workmanship. It bears the mark of R. Blackinton & Co., of North Attleboro, MA. This particular mark was reportedly used 1900-1967, so the piece is dated conservatively. There is also a number, 2555 H, on the back. The clip has a warm patina, indicating some age, but very few signs of wear. There is a tiny imperfection at the bottom of the dollar sign, from either an impact of some kind or a manufacturing flaw...

Reminiscent of machine-age design, these mid-century silver cuff links are composed of applied semi-circular bars spanning the width of a flat, rectangular bar. A streamlined, classic design of an oval amber mounted in a bezel setting. The cuff links appear hardly worn; the amber exhibits no scratches or other signs of wear. The anchor buttons are undecorated silver; the hinge is in good working order and the bridge bars are secure. They are marked 835 for silver content, with a maker’s mark of a stylized fish, probably for the German firm of Fischlandschmuck. The amber buttons measure ¾ inch by 5/16 inch.
