Truly a statement piece, this vintage sterling silver bracelet was designed and signed circa 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). The flowers appear to be floating in air on your wrist. The leaves balance the underside. All of this is orchestrated by a simple twisted wire frame. There is great depth with the construction of each flower. The beauty of this cuff is displayed in 2 inches of height and 7inches wearable length including the gap of just under one inch. You can see from the back that the flowers are open backed repousse made with thick silver. No chips or dents...

These beautiful, sterling silver earrings have a classic Mexican, 1940's design. They are screwbacks, and measure 1" x 1" x 1". The central stones are bezel-set: green chalcedony / jade. Each earring's back is marked HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 925, with a maker's mark of JP inside a rectangle. The D.F. stands for Distrito Federal: made in Mexico City.

A rare and early first design period 980 silver bracelet by William Spratling with 6 hats alternating with rows of three balls.

Measures 7" long and 7/8" at the widest. Marked with the conjoined WS, 980 and Taxco on a cartouche on the back. Has a slide in pin closure.

The bracelet has a dark patina. There is a slight bit of stiffness to the hinges. The pin closure is tight. Has some minor nicks and scratches as seen with pieces of this age.

A true find for the collector.

Formed as parrots with flowing tails, with sharply molded detail. One clip mechanism is slightly loose, but both are in good working order, with a patent application number that dates to 1931. The backs bear the Los Castillo/Taxco/Made in Mexico marks, as well as the design number of 168A. Each bird measures 1 7/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches at the widest part. Gross weight: 26.6g

An Art Deco style sterling silver bracelet from Mexico with four bezel set amethyst carved masks alternating with domes and curved bars. The stones have some inclusions. We have seen the same bracelet with the FD mark for Fred Davis.

Marked Sterling Mexico on the clasp. Measures 7 1/4" long and 1 1/8" wide. Box clasp holds securely. Has some minor surfaces scratches, a few dings on the sides, some tiny flea bites to the amethyst and a little tarnish.

Matching the brooch of the same design that it also available here (you can see the two pieces together in one of the photos here) this Los Castillo Mexican silver and copper ring is a rather rare find and I am happy to have come upon it. Weaving together the two metals in a chevron / arrow pattern, it is additionally embellished with tiny little sterling beads and has a visually interesting shank as well...

Dating in the 1940s, this massive sterling silver and azur-malachite "mozaico Azteca" inlay pendant necklace is signed by Taxco maestro Jose Anton. I am more used to Anton's repousse work yet from time to time, I do come across some examples that feature overlay and, as in this case, stone inlay. What impresses me here is, of course, the generously sized pendant with its "warrior" silver inlay in profile as well as the detail of the eagle figure floating in the air next to it...

An early cross pendant in Sterling Silver with Coral, Amethyst and Turquoise by Matilde Poulat. Cross measures 1 3/4" wide and 1 7/8" tall. Marked MATL in script, Mexico, 925 and Pate 10670. Amethyst stone is faceted. Suspended on a 26" long Taxco hand wrought sterling chain marked with an Eagle #3, and the initials PCM. Fine condition, the colors of the stones are vibrant. Classic MATL design.

Signed FBG this over lay is exceptional workmanship and hand carving. The length is a dramatic 26in. and sports hand made chain. The first drop is 3.75in. x 3.5in. and the second is 3in. x 3.5in. The total length is 32.5in. This is a heavy weight at 76 grams. The tear drop shape of these 2 amulets really make this Mayan symbols and deity necklace romantic. We have a superb Los Castillo 18in. long necklace to offer today. The links are 1 3/8ths tall making for a striking presence. The stones have no cracks or chips and also have no striations that come to the surface of the amethyst. The color is a beautiful mix of milky swirl and jelly purple. Properly hallmarked as shown with the old linear mark for Los Castillo when Margot Van Voorhies was married to Don Antonio Castillo. Definitely a collectors treasure.

A Charming and rare pair of vintage Sterling Silver stylized Bird Earrings by the famous Taxco jewelry artist Hector Aguilar. They measure 1 1/3" wide by 3/4" tall and weigh 10.1 grams total. This is a Rafael Dominguez turquoise bracelet made before 1948 and properly hallmarked as shown. The weight is 58 grams heavy and is 1.25in. wide. It is 7in. long. The silver is thick and Dominguez is know for his high quality workmanship. Dominguez is a noted maestro in Penny Morril's books. When you own a Dominguez piece you know you bought the best! Spratling Brooch Pendant which bears the first phase marks as shown is an iconic design from the Mexican Silver Renaissance. All the amethyst have the teat shape which is the original cut for the stones. There is no chips or cracks to the stones. It is a 3 inch circumference and has a weight of 71 grams. This is a substancial piece. It can be worn to clasp a shawl and hold considerable weight. Add your own chain and thread it thru the barrels and have a necklace!

A vintage sterling silver heavy brooch by Artemio Navarrete. Navarrete helped William Spratling open his Taller de Las Delicias in 1931. He opened his own workshop in 1936.

This example is signed with the conjoined AN, Taxco and 940 for better than sterling silver. Pre Eagle, (pre 1949).

Measures 1 7/8" across and 2" high. Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. The brooch has some minor tarnish and surface scratches.
