An abstract sterling silver brooch and or matching pendant with neckring by Modernist NYC Silversmith, Henry Steig. They have a folded three dimensional design with a pearl.

Brooch measures just under 2" long and 3/8" at the widest. Rollover clasp holds securely. There is a little wear to the top surface of the pearl but you have to use a loupe to see it.

The matching pendant measures 1 3/8" long and 1/4" at the widest. Has some tarnish...

A very well crafted pair of sterling silver earrings and matching pendant, each with a prong set rose quartz stone. We especially like how the prongs are formed from folding pieces of the main parts. Pendant measures 2 1/2" long and 1 3/4" across. Would look nice on a chain or neck ring. Screw back earrings measure 1 3/8" high and 1 1/8" across. Screw backs are marked T2 and Sterling. They hold securely. Very nice condition, warm patina. Great modernist design.

The rings is size 7 3/4 and is in excellent condition with some wear around the edge of the stone due to the age. The stone itself is 13/16" in diameter and the ring stands 1/2" high. An outstanding vintage modernist sterling silver necklace by studio jeweler, Fridl Blumenthal, (1905-1998). Signed with her Tulip mark, FRIDL, and Sterling.

Heavy sterling silver with contrasting oxidized and polished surfaces. Necklace measures approximately 15" around and has a secure hook closure. Due to the hook nature of the clasp, an extender could be attached if needed. Links measure 5/8" at the widest.

Rare sterling cuff by modernist Caroline Gleick Rosene, San Francisco, c.1951. It is very difficult to find this silversmith's work. Signed "ROSENE HAND MADE STERLING" and is in excellent condition except for a missing small silver ring that is easily replaceable. Made of heavy gauge silver, it is 1 1/4" wide and is 7 1/2" inside circumference. An organic mid century modern brooch by the American studio jeweler, Harry Osaki (1904-1985), who worked in Pasadena, California. Reminds us of a stylized fish.

This brooch, executed in sterling silver with an oval turquoise colored stone, measures 2 7/8" long and 1 1/2" at the widest.

Marked Osaki, Hand-Wrought and Sterling on the back.

Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Has a little tarnish and a few minor surface scratches.

A sterling silver abstract brooch by the MCM jeweler and sculpter, Joseph Skinger, (1911-1967). He was active in Vermont in the 1950s and 60s, working primarily in silver. Known for his modernist 'Slalom' ring.

This brooch measures 2 1/8" long and 1" at the widest. Marked Sterling Skinger.

This could also be worn as a pendant with a chain or cord laced through the curled top as shown.

This highly artistic and original pin has a tiny hallmark which I do not recognize (see photos). It measures 1.5" in length and has an older hook type clasp. In excellent condition.

An amazing sterling silver Cuff Bracelet by the well known Arizona modernist silversmith, H. Fred Skaggs. Has one huge central oval greenish-black cabochon surrounded by thick sterling curls.

Measures about 5 1/2" around with an opening of 1 1/2". Can be adjusted slightly. Cabochon measures 3 3/8" long and 2" wide. The bracelet has tarnish, we will leave the decision to polish or not up to the new owner.

A well crafted, hand wrought lightly hammered sterling necklace with what we think is a carnelian cabochon on a dangling pendant. It is signed on the back with a stylized 'T' and sterling.

The hand made hook clasp holds securely. The pendant is connected to the chain with a curved bar ending with two orbs.

A vintage pair of cuff links from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, in sterling with a top layer of 14K gold. Have a bark like texture around the edges. Measure 1" long and 1/2" wide. Marked Sterling, 14K and with the crossed JL mark of the artist. Swivel toggles hold securely. Very nice condition, have some surface scratches. These have not been monogrammed. Quality set.

This unusual pin features an applied abstract motif of molten silver mounted on a rosewood panel. The wood has a backing of silver and a secure rollover clasp. It has a handsome design and is expertly constructed. It is unmarked, but all the silver has been tested, and is most likely sterling. The back bears a secure rollover clasp.

A colorful studio piece molded as an abstract, modified circle and enameled in browns and blues. The back bears a secure rollover clasp on one side and a pendant bale on the other. The piece works best, however, as a pin. There are some illegible marks on the back; although the pin does not indicate silver, it does test definitively as silver, but not sterling. It measures 2 inches by 1 ¾ inches. Weight: 11.9 grams

A sterling silver pendant necklace with a Tiger's Eye cabochon in a modernist design. Marked with what looks like KL in a Circle, 925, © and 1974. So far we have been unable to identify the silversmith. This pendant has a little tarnish.

She died several years ago, and this figural pendant brooch was purchased directly from her estate. It was one of her personal pieces which she made for herself, circa 1950s. Large, at 3" tall. These abstract earrings have an unconstructed, rough look of Brutalist design. They have pendants with curled, textured and oxidized surfaces that are finished on both sides and dangle from similar tops. They test definitively for sterling silver, and although they are not too heavy for the original ear clips, a good jeweler or metalsmith could convert them to posts to be on the safe side.
