Fabulous sterling tufa cast bolo by Mission/Hopi Preston Monongye ( 1927-87 ). The central piece features a mythical being holding a staff and carrying what appears to be an abstract bundle that is comprised of ebony, turquoise and bone. The central piece measures 3 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide at the top and narrows to 1" at the bottom. The tips are 2 1/4" long. The bolo is hallmarked on the reverse with the peyote bird mark.
