Nice quality and good weight, this bracelet is comprised of 7 bands, four which are triangular shaped and have stamping across the entire front of the bands, and three bands of twisted silver rope, all hand hammered and filed. Fabulous sterling tufa cast bolo by Mission/Hopi Preston Monongye ( 1927-87 ). The central piece features a mythical being holding a staff and carrying what appears to be an abstract bundle that is comprised of ebony, turquoise and bone. The central piece measures 3 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide at the top and narrows to 1" at the bottom. The tips are 2 1/4" long. The bolo is hallmarked on the reverse with the peyote bird mark. Now deceased, he began working in the 50's and was employed by Woodard's Indian Shop in Gallup, NM for 15 years. The belt buckle measures 2 3/4" by 2 1/4".
