The work was created in 1962 and bears the blindstamp of Tamarind, as well as another unidentified blind stamp on the front and an ink stamp of a gallery, or printer, on the reverse...

Somehow, over the years, the sky area in the left portion was severely damaged, with complete paper loss in areas especially at far left portion. The right half of the work is in good condition...

This is a moralizing work by one of the most famous satirists and social commentators of all time, WILLIAM HOGARTH of England (1697-1764)...

A vintage study in charcoal of an infant on its back, 12" by 15" (16" by 19" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "H Collins", and dated adjacent Sept. 14, 1953. I do not see a listed name that would correspond with this name or variants of it. The study is artistic, reminiscent of timeless Italian Renaissance drawings. There is age toning of the paper and some lighter, whitish areas at lower left, above the infant's left arm, and at lower right.

The scene is poetic and very calming. Hallett was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts and studied in Antwerp and Paris before returning for more training in Boston. He was a longtime member of the Boston Art Club and the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters...

A contemporary painting by a talented anonymous artist, the subject a church stained glass window, with Gothic arches and impressive detail, including the names of the saints pictured. The work measures 14 1/2" by 11 1/4" (21 1/2" by 18" framed in black). Condition is excellent, I note a tiny chip at lower left frame easily painted black. The artist invested a lot of time in creating this and the former owner installed UV resistant glass to prevent fading...

There is no listed artist by these names, but the artist was talented in the medium and created a satisfying work. Condition is excellent. Age would be circa mid twentieth century----perhaps a tourist souvenir piece.

An American oil on panel painting, unsigned, likely circa 1920, unframed, featuring a landscape including a lake, some distant low mountains, and yellowing foliage in foreground suggesting autumn as the season. The piece measures 14" by 22". Surface is dirty---could really use a cleaning/varnish---and there is paint chipping along left, top, and bottom edges, as well as a small loss at left center in the foliage. Needs some TLC but the essentials are all there...

Watercolor painting of a harbor, probably Maine, signed at lower right corner by artist M. Matheson and titled in pencil on the reverse, appropriately, "Quiet Harbor" (with original $35.00 price). The work, on heavy watercolor paper, measures 15 1/2" by 22 1/2". It having slid down under the mat due to the old tape losing its grip, I removed this from the mat and frame, which are (possibly) available at no extra charge. The fairly ordinary frame measures 22 1/2" by 27 1/2"...

This is an oil on canvas painting (measuring 7 3/4" by 9 3/4", plus very thin simple wood frame), laid down on a board, by the noted Northern California artist JOHN HENRY RAMM (1879-1948). It is titled on the reverse in the artist's own distinctive handwriting "Looking Down Bush Street" and initialed and dated 1930 (not signed on front, but, this is definitely the artist's way of signing; I have handled a number of his works in the past)...

An etching on paper, 7 1/4" by 5 1/4" inside the mat, 12 1/2" by 9 3/4" framed, signed at lower right in pencil by well-known New Orleans artist EUGENE F. LOVING (1908-1971). The print is titled at lower left, "Bourbon Street Patio", and bears the artist's notation "Ed/100" at lower center. Loving was a familiar figure on the New Orleans art scene for decades, painting and executing prints as well. A teacher as well, he was something of a father figure of sorts to other artists in the region...

This is a well known and picturesque part of Wales, an area that attracted many artists in the 19th and early 20th century. The artist may possibly be the listed EDWARD or EDWIN Masters. The works of those artists have sold at Christie's South Kensington auctions in London. Condition is good as it has been protected...
