Oil on Masonite painting of one of the dramatic red eroded formations in Monument Valley, in far northeastern Arizona. The impressionist work is good enough to be by someone listed but there is no signature. Probably dates to about the early 1950's. Measures 9 1/2" by 11 1/2" (16" by 18" nicely framed, with some wear on the frame that could likely be smoothed out).

Oil on canvasboard painting of gulls flying above the waves, the stern of a boat at left, 12" by 16", (17" by 21 1/2" framed), signed in ink on reverse ("Painted by Edith Fite"/XXX Magee 1951"). The scene reminds of how hungry gulls loyally follow the back end of a fishing boat. I have not located information on the artist. The painting could well benefit from a cleaning after about 70 years.

"Good Time" an oil Painting on board by the German artist Kurt Koch depicting a dwarf dressed in 17th century costume sitting near a table smoking a pipe and with a glass of wine and a pitcher on top. The painting is signed by the artist in the upper left corner and also on the back of the board and dated 54 (Most likely 1954). The painting comes with a nice gilt and ornamented antique frame.
Condition: The painting is in very good condition with no restorations or repairs...

A rather elegant pastel/mixed media drawing, anthracite gray dominating, though with other delicate color in some of the abstract forms, executed on heavy paper, (there is an interesting, pronounced texture to the surface, and some kind of a slight gloss in parts when viewed at an angle), signed at upper right "Grau 59", and "Enrique Grau" is written on the reverse, on which there are a lot of scribbles. The work measures 19 1/2" by 12 1/2"...

Original oil painting on canvas by Sabine Hettner (French, 1907-1986). In excellent condition. Signed and dated 53 l.r. Also signed and dated verso. 21 1/2" by 18" canvas alone. Sabine Hettner, whose mother was French, was the daughter of German painter Otto Hettner, an associate of Oskar Kokoschka and Otto Dix. She lived and worked in Paris in a residence where her neighbors included Sonia and Robert Delaunay...

Measuring 16 1/4" by 21 1/4" (23 1/2" by 28 1/2" in its attractive and clean modern gold frame with liner), this is a beautiful impressionistic painting in oil by the noted orientalist French painter LOUIS MICHEL BERNARD (1885-1962). The subject could be a sunwashed port in the mountainous south of France, or, possibly, in Algeria or elsewhere in coastal North Africa, where Bernard spent much time. The artist was a student of Cauvy at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Algiers...

A pleasing watercolor painting of small boats in a coastal landscape in England, 10" by 14 3/4" (13" by 17 3/4" framed), signed at lower right twice, by listed English artist JOHN MORTIMER. Mortimer painted watercolors in Cornwall, Devon, Sussex, and other parts of the British Isles. The work is in excellent condition. Old backing has a print of a landscape. Allow for reflections in a few photos.

Written in pencil on the old backing is the name of the artist and the title: "La Rue du Moulin de Beune Paris". The circa 1950's work is in generally excellent condition. There is a very small less than 1/4" length disturbance in sky showing as a light spot...

This is a small etching (6 1/2" by 4 1/2", 12 1/4" by 10 1/4" in metal frame with black mat) by the noted California artist HARRIET GENE ROUDEBUSH (1908-1998), titled at lower left "Flower Stand" and pencil signed at lower right by the artist. Roudebush was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Sacramento as a youth. Art education in the Bay Area followed, in the late 1920's, and by 1932 she was producing etchings, generally of familiar Bay Area scenes. She worked until at least the 1970's...

Mid Century Sci Fi oil on canvas of a card dealer wearing a dealers visor and a green cardigan sweater said to be magazine cover from a 1950s sci fi publication. We bought this and another we are listing in the late 1990 in Los Angeles , the seller didn't remember the artist name but said the artist was an early Sci Fi artist . the painting is unsigned in good condition though could use a cleaning. Very well done one of my favorites. Size overall 25" by 19.5" sight 19.5" by 13.5"

Watercolor on paper, measuring approximately 12" by 16 1/2" (19" by 23" as framed), the subject El Capitan peak, also called Agathla by the Navajo people, a sharp, distinct isolated mountain south of Monument Valley, Arizona, over 1500 feet (457 meters) high.
