David Stirling was born in 1887 in Corydon, Iowa to a pioneering family, and his father was a newspaper publisher. He died in Longmont, Colorado after a short illness in 1971 and was buried there in a family plot...

This original lithograph is not behind glass and is loose in the current framing. The measurement of the sheet is approximately 12" by 9" (19" by 17" in the framing). There is a tear at top as shown, and a slight crease at right...

MEDIA: Inside Painting Hair Crystal Snuff Bottle SIZE: H: 3 inches, W: 1 ¾ inches ARTIST: Qiu Shi (Guanyu Art Studio) *His original name is Liu Xing-Kai. He was born in 1968 in Hebei Province. He began work under Master Wang Guan-Yu in 1987. Though young, his skills offer much promise for a brilliant future. His talents lie in reproducing Song Dynasty and other traditional landscapes and figures.

Interesting painting of the Southwest, showing Native Americans at a nocturnal religious ceremony or festival such as Penitente, probably in New Mexico, many candles flickering in the scene also populated with processional crosses. The blues of the nocturne dominate the composition, and the yellow crosses and many candles receding into the distance complete this most agreeable painting. The work is signed at bottom right with what appears as "Judith Rossio" or "Romo" or similar...

Large unframed oil on canvas painting of three central figures chatting, other figures in the distance, 24" by 36", painted in a highly impressionist manner, and signed at lower left with the familiar "Buenaventura" signature. The artist is either ALFREDO BUENAVENTURA (1942-1982) or his uncle CESAR BUENAVENTURA (1922-1983). I cannot be certain because their works often look very similar, as do their signatures, and in this case the beginning of the signature is difficult to discern...

The piece, in strip typical late sixties or early seventies frame, measures 18 1/2" by 26". Condition is very good save for a small puncture at lower left that actually blends in with the design and is not all that easy to find. Frame at left and lower right is also ever so slightly askew...

A very fine miniature of a young lady, done in watercolor on organic wafer. Signed lower right "Becker Px". The sitter is a wearing a gown with elaborate bows along the neckline and sleeves, and a pink sash. The glassless gilded wood frame is original to the painting.
