Charcoal on paper portrait of a middle aged bearded man, circa 1880, 20" by 16", currently unframed, signed at lower right with initials "M.J.H.". Thinking this was a work by the major artist Martin Johnson Heade, I sent images to Theodore Stebbins, the Heade expert, who said this was not the work of that artist.
