This is an original engraving by French artist Jean Emile Laboureur. The title of this work is: La Blanchisseuse (The Laundress) This image was created and printed in 1922. It is pencil signed by the artist and numbered as 40/72 in the lower right border. The image measures 9 7/8X7 1/8 inches. Nicely Framed. Very good condition. Laboureur was well known for his distinctly Cubist style of expression.

Fine decorative 19th century engraving print, titled at bottom margin "Philadelphia from Belmont (WEST PARK)", by English-born artist ROBERT HINSHELWOOD (1812-1879). Hinshelwood came to the United States in 1835 as a young man and pursued his art skills, in both painting and engraving. In this case he seems to have engraved after his own original painting---a fairly rare skill combination...
THREE hand colored French 19th century prints featuring early-day Japanese soldiers, each 9 1/4" by 6 3/8" inside the faded old violet mats, to which each is simply taped at top edge. The prints are unframed. Two have a dark foxing mark, and all are of sufficient age to have acquired the signs of age---paper toning, slight handling creases and so forth. Fresh mats and frames will display them properly and preserve them for another 150 or so years...
