This is a rare original mezzotint by British artist, Sir Francis Seymour Haden. The title of this work is: "Harlech No II", it was created and printed in 1880. A combination of mezzotint, etching and drypoint, hand signed in pencil lower left border. This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 197. The image measures 8X11 3/4 inches. This is the V state of V.. This is a rarely seen image by Haden. Richly inked and printed.

Kasimir is known today largely for his prints of street and city scenes in both Europe and America, rendered in fine detail, as color etchings, a process in which he was a pioneer...

Original, very scarce (edition of 30?) unframed 1909 etching known as "Pittsburgh, no. II", signed at lower right center in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). Evidently, Pennell himself printed this particular example as "imp" is written after his name. The sheet, heavily trimmed at three sides as seen, measures 9" by 12"...

Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography.
