Woodblock "Calme.'truck' " by Paul Jacoulet 1941, showing two Polynesian lovers in a scenic outdoors setting. Signed in pencil "Paul Jacoulet" with a red butterfly seal with title and date. Jacoulet was born in France in 1902 but lived his entire life in Japan studying and mastering woodblock technique producing 166 masterpieces.

Original woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito. This work is titled "Maiko Kyoto (A)", signed in pencil and on the image, dated 1959, and numbered 34/100. In good condition. Framed but can be sold without the frame.

A PAIR of very desirable prints in unusually fine condition, (not examined out of frame, but appearance as presented is superb), pencil signed at lower right near the red artist seal, by the important French-Japanese printmaker artist PAUL JACOULET (1902-1960). Measurements inside the mat are 15" by 11 1/4" (23" by 16 1/4" in black strip frames). Note the prevalent silver mica in the field background, one of the revolutionary techniques for which Jacoulet is revered among print collectors...

Print by Birger Sandzen (Swedish American Artist 1871-1954), titled "The Sentinels", a well known image by this revered artist, done with what is described as Nailhead print making, similar to his woodblock and linoleum prints, though having much more precise definition and detail. Large format Japanese limited edition woodblock print depicting a path through traditional buildings titled in kanji at the lower left "Kashiwabara" (station 60) from the series "Kisokaido" by Katsuyuki Nishijima (b. 1945). This is a wood engraving print titled "Les Visages", by the important French artist GEORGES ROUAULT (1871-1958). The print measures 7" by 8 3/4" inside the mat (13 3/4" by 15 1/2" as framed). I believe that this is from the edition published at a later date (circa 1960's) by the Collectors' Guild of New York; the print is dated in the plate 1927, and signed in the plate at lower right. The condition is very good with even very light toning of the paper...
