This is an image of a young African-American boy grinning while leaning against a building, the image mounted on a board signed by the photographer, Arthur S. Little. After googling the name I find that around the late 'teens and early twenties, there was a photographer in Los Angeles and Ventura by that name, though he does not seem to have had a high profile. Something of a mystery piece......a black and white photo, 12 5/8" by 11" including thin margins on three sides, (in a temporary protective-only frame), unsigned and unattributed, in a frame which bears old Christie's Los Angeles photo department sale and lot information that does not correspond with the image (I checked with Christie's photographs dept).
