A set of eight framed collotype color prints after paintings by famous western American artist FREDERIC REMINGTON (1861-1909), originally published by Collier's Magazine, which had a contract with Remington. He was to paint a painting a month, and the prints derived from the painting would be widely distributed. The prints all bear in tiny type at lower left margin "COPYRIGHT 1909 BY P.F. COLLIER & SON"...

Measuring 8 x 11 inches, it is pencil signed with publishers label on the backing. Created in 1905 in an edition of probably 75, cat: Wuerth #379. Original scarce to rare etching of the year 1910, "The Avenue, Valenciennes", signed at lower right margin in pencil by the important American etcher, illustrator, critic, author and teacher JOSEPH PENNELL (1857-1926). The print measures 10" by 13" inside the mat (12 1/2" by 15 1/2" in the framing). After the signature, the "imp." indicates that Pennell would have printed this himself...

Clifford Addams, American, 1876-1942, "Dreamer by the Thames". This is a great London etching by American artist Clifford Addams, image size 8 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1902, edition of 75, inscribed in the plate, "Loci dulcedo nos attinet" (the sweetness of the place holds us), pencil signed and numbered. Clifford Addams grew up outside Philadelphia and studied art in the U. S. before leaving to further his studies in Europe...

A fine example of the Drypoint work of French artist Jacques VIllon. The title of this work is :"L'Epingle A Chapeau", the hat pin. This image was created and printed in 1909. The image is editioned lower left as 12/20. A rare image. The drypoint measures 15X12 inches, printed on a medium weight, watermarked, laid type paper. very fine condition, a rich impression showing a velvet burr of ink throughout the figure. This drypoint is clearly signed in pencil by the artist lower right border.

Robert Shaw was a contemporary of Howard Pyle and J.D. Chalfont. - He is best known for his Delaware scenes and did not exhibit widely outside Wilmington and seems to have had little interest in exhibiting nationally. He did, however, show in the Delaware Building at the World's Columbian Exposition and also at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1890. This work is dated 1909

Mary Stevenson Cassatt 1844-1926 American This is an original drypoint etching by American artist Mary Cassatt. The title is Denise holding her Child, created in 1905, this image is the first state of two, printed on an Ivory laid type sheet. The image measures 8X5 3/4 inches. Unsigned as issued. This image appears in the Breeskin catalog as image number 204.

A French Poster that belonged to the actress Greer Garson. This was lent to the College of Santa Fe for exhibition when Garson appeared in the production of Madwoman of Chaillot. On the back Garson has written the information, shown in photo. Measures about 16 1/2" by 23 3/4", frame overall about 17 1/2" by 24 3/4". Appears to be attached to backing. Nice Art Nouveau Style and interesting provenance.

A fine color soft-ground etching and aquatint by the noted, prolific Czech master artist TAVIK FRANTISEK SIMON (1877-1942), featuring the famous and much-loved "bouquiniste" bookstalls along the Seine in Paris. The sheet measures 17 3/4" by 15 1/2" and 19 1/2" by 17 1/4" very nicely framed back in the 1950's or so in Chicago at Anderson Galleries (label on backing). The print is signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and numbered 48 in the lower left margin...

For the collector of Ashcan School/The Eight, or early 20th century American art, here is a special work: a pencil signed print by JOHN SLOAN (1871-1951), titled "Man Monkey", and inscribed "100 proofs". This special piece, which dates to the year 1905, came from the personal collection of Peter Morse, who wrote the catalog raisonne of Sloan's graphic work.
