Contemporary jadeite carving. This is a very nice newer carving. The color is unusual, light blue green with a little amber spread here and there. Carved as an ear of corn with the husk peeled off, a small plant (maybe pepper) is carved around the bottom.

Amedeo Gennarelli was a French/Italian sculptor. He was born in 1881 in Naples, Italy, but emigrated to Paris in 1913 and worked there until 1930, exhibiting at numerous Salons of the Societe des Artistes Francais. He is known for his work in the art deco style and for his depictions of the female nude, working in bronze, terra-cotta and wood. He died in Paris in 1943.

Pair of hard porcelain pheasants covered with "famille rose" enamels, gilt details. "compagnie des indes" style. Although the style is Chinese from the 18th century, these are late copies Probably Chinese work from the 20th century, perhaps from the Republican period. The enamels are beautiful and thick, some details are gilded. Base unglazed, no mark. Good condition, except the beak of a pheasant broken and badly restored .

A very good bronze figure of a hound by Piere-Jules Mene (1810-1877). The hound stands alert look over his shoulder at the viewer. The rectangular base is well-textured with rocks and branches, typical of Mene's style. The shape of the base suggests that the casting is from Mene's own foundry and dates to the 1840s. The dogs is nicely detailed. The figure is finished in a dark black/brown patina. The front left corner of the base is signed P. J. Mene...
A 4-7/8" long and 2-1/4" high vintage Inuit Eskimo sopastone carving of a walrus c1950-60. This unsigned (or at least no signature still visible)carving is in fair original condition with no cracks, damage or repairs other than the loss of the two tusks, some chipping to the feet and some minor scrapes.
