The man-made hand molded resin for Maya's purses comes from trees native to the Philippines.The resin body of the purse is hand polished and, then, semi precious stones--in this case carnelian, picture jasper and rock crystal nuggets--are added to purse and chain. This sterling silver Georg Jensen bangle with four inlaid agate disks—no. 254—is a very rare Georg Jensen piece. It was launched in 1975 and I bought it in 1984. It was never worn. Moreover, it has gone out of production. This marvelous piece of jewelry was designed by Kim Naver for Georg Jensen. The piece is marked with the Georg Jensen mark in a circle of dots, 925S Denmark, and the number 254...

A large bangle composed of 63 thin, white metal bangles, each decorated with oxidized and impressed bisecting lines. The thin bangles are entwined so as to lie comfortably on the arm, with a Slinky-like feel despite its heft of about 150 grams. The bracelet has a bit of flexibility for getting it over the hand, but for the most part its interior circumference of about 7 ½ inches is pretty firm. The composite thickness of the bracelet is about 2 inches around. It is unmarked.

1980s clip earrings in matte goldtone metal with a hammered finish, with faux coin drops, in the barbaric/Byzantine style popularized by Chanel. 2 1/4 inches long. Excellent condition. Display form is life size. Photos enlarged to show detail.

Contemporary American designer Maya uses semi-precious stones and pearls in combination with molded resin and glass beads in her elegant design of this purse. Maya's plaque signature is on the back. The 44" strap can be removed so the purse may be used as a clutch. The strap itself may become a beautiful long necklace, or even a belt. The purse is 6 1/2" at its widest, 4" tall, and 2" thick front to back. A cloth drawstring storage bag with Maya's signature is included.

Maya creates a sleek amber resin purse with swirls of black and small metal "buttons" resembling hobnails. Semi-precious stones, antiqued beads and crystals on detachable link chain that also can be worn as a necklace. Purse is 9" wide,4" high,1 1/2" deep. Chain is 44" end to end. Antiqued copper-colored metal frame.

We just found out that this buckle was designed by Denez for the Autumn/Winter 1970 Yves Saint Laurent season. We found examples from the same series in the book, "Yves Saint Laurent Accessories," by Patrick Mauries. The buckle measures 4 x 5" (10.5 x 12.5 cm). It is made to hold a 2" (5.5 cm) wide belt and has it s original attachment piece. Art Nouveau in style with bronze, copper and gilt tones, it reminds me of some of the metro stations in Paris. There is some gold loss to the back ...

This contemporary brooch by French designer Pavone is made of galalith (a plastic derived from skim milk!). The little cat just oozes sassy personality and begs to be taken home by a cat lover. He is three levels thick--head and paws front level, body second level, and tail the third level. Great design. 3 1/2" tall, 1 3/4" wide. Pavone signature on the back of the brooch.

Fabulous glam statement size long clip earrings with poured glass beads in red, green, and blue, and faux coins and other drops and spacers in dark silvertone, goldtone, and copper color. A brilliant, flat-backed amber color poured glass stone at the top accents these multi-style amber glass bead, long drop earrings. Probably made by Gripoix, the earrings are a rich orange-amber color. Some of the beads are cased glass with black centers. The earrings are 4" (10.5cm) long. The gold framed top is 7/8"(2.6cm) in diameter. They are marked ISABEL CANOVAS on the back and are in perfect vintage condition.
