A contemporary or late 20th century example of Australian outback aboriginal painting, unsigned, acrylic on canvas, 36 1/2" by 24 3/4" in white simple laminated framing, the subject two snakes arranged artistically on a dot matrix background. On the reverse is a stamp of "Maruku Arts and Crafts" and written on the overlap is "#979" and "Kakaw" or "Kakawi" or similar. Condition of painting is excellent, white frame shows some wear. A fine agate snuff bottle of large size the sides carved in relief with various birds on prunus branches. The bottle is very well-hollowed and weighs only 97 grams without the stopper. The foot and mouth both slightly concave. The stopper is grey smoky agate, the spoon is bone. The bottle is fairly large and might have been used as a table bottle. 20th century.

The largest is 20 3/4" in diameter, the middle piece 17 1/4", and the smallest 14 3/4"; and the largest is 7 1/2" in height. There are designs in color, that may trace to Apache or other baskets of Arizona and the Southwest...

A striking hand carved sculpture of a female, likely mid to late 20th century, measuring approximately 17 3/4" in height and 6" in width. When you look at the work, it is easy to see how Picasso, Vlaminck, Derain and Matisse were so influenced by African sculpture. The face and profile of the head are classic; they remind of the haunting, brooding, mysterious, giant stone figures of remote Easter Island in the Pacific.
