Having conceived of the revolutionary idea of a lithographed, molded-mask doll face in 1901, New Yorker, Albert Bruckner applied for and was awarded the patent for his idea that same year. All Bruckner dolls were then stamped, "PAT'D JULY 8th 1901" on the lower right neck edge.

From 1901-1924, Bruckner produced this original, 12" Topsy Turvy doll for Horsman's Babyland Rag Doll line that features Caucasian, "Betty", on one end and African American, "Topsy", on the other...

Very nice embossed Halloween post card illustrating a young girl and boy meeting over the top of a winking jack o'lantern. Two black cats stand watch. The card is dated 1908 and was made by International Art Publishing Co.

This exciting horse drawn fire engine is clearly in a race against time, but the timelessness of this toy endures. It features a single horse pulling a fire pumper driven by a single fireman. We believe that the paint may be from a very old repaint job but it has, ironically, protected it from rust. The right rear wheel is missing a cap and all wheels are wobbly. Really very nice Cigar Box. It is Heavy also. wonderful Black Americana Caricature painted on it with a Black Man Wearing a Top Hat and smoking a cigar. There is no key for the box and one the glass pains in the box (backside) is split in two. I have not seen this box before, really great item.
