Johnson became president upon the assassination of John F. Kennedy in Dallas in 1963. He was elected to the office on his own in 1964. A Democrat, he oversaw the ramping up of the war in Vietnam and landmark social legislation. The photo is inscribed to one Ellen Oshim. A hard bound printed catalogue with no date, featuring the works of James and Charles Whitehead ( Hanley, Staffordshire)with an introduction by Reginald Hagger.
