Beautiful, large figure of a young woman carrying a fruit basket. She appears to be running to market, or caught off-guard by a breeze. The figure has many unique elements that point to a Seguso attribution although the piece is unmarked. The flowing dress, and form fitting bodice in sfumato glass, the basket done in textured clear glass with gold powders; the individual pasta glass fruits, the fine attention to details...

An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.

Very RARE early 1930’s Japanese dark brown textured silk jacket with a hand painted lining commemorating the flight of the Clasina Madge flown by American pilot, Cecil Allen, in a race from Japan to the United States. Cecil A. Allen, 1904-1935, was a well known racing pilot whose heroic deeds were admired by the Japanese, as evidenced by this kimono. Japanese early Showa Period comb. The comb has the design of traditional Japanese bells with red cord attached. The bells are done in high relief, one in silver lacquer one in gold lacquer and the third in bluish-green shell inlays. The comb is signed by artist. The comb measures 4 1/4" wide, 2 3/16" tall and 7/16" thick.

Chinese soapstone chop seal with three carved foo dogs standing on a pedestal. The carve work is beautiful and immaculate. The soapstone has a nice muted grey-green color with soft red and gold tone accents. The carved seal on the bottom has remnants of red pigment. Repulic period 20th century.
