16094272 A Carder era Steuben Verre de Soie cologne bottle with a light blue jade stopper. The bottle is shown as shape 1988 in the Steuben factory line drawings and is 7 3/4 inches tall with the stopper. There is a polished pontil mark but the bottle is unsigned as was normal on most Verre de Soie items.

This porcelain figural group was produced in Germany by Hutschenreuther in the 1950s. The modeler’s name, K. Tutter, is impressed into the base. The figurine is 7 inches tall and 6 inches wide. This unusual transparent window murrine vase by Fratelli Toso is documented in Leslie Pinas "FRATELLI TOSO", pg.68. Titled "Tiffany Windows" because of the transperent murrines, this vessel is amazing in good light and an excellent example of the Murano Glassblowers skill. Every murrine is transparent, allowing the light to flow through nicely and reminds one of "the colors of Murano"! Measuring 5.25" tall, the vase is in excellent condition and retains the made in Murano Italy label.

A sterling silver vermouth dispenser in the form of a watering can by Cartier. When tipped, the dispenser lightly sprinkles a drip or two of vermouth into the glass for the perfect martini. The bottom is marked “Sterling” and is signed “Cartier”. These watering cans were made for Cartier’s New York store.

A beautiful Coalport plate with hand coloring and lacework

This is a sterling plate made by Tiffany which was autographed by the players in the Keaton Golf Klassic in 1974. It is signed in the silver by Art Bell, Hale Irwin, Don Fisterwald, Gene Littler, Lionel Hebert, Dale Douglas, Jim Langley, Charles Coody, and Bob (I couldn't read his last name). It is marked on the back Tiffany & Co., Makers, Sterling Silver, 23336. There are scratches to the silver, but the autographs are all readable. The plate has a diameter of 6".

A young woman dressed in a white robe with red hakama pants is holding a folding fan and is posed to do a dance. This dress is often known as Shirabyoshi where these were sacred dances offered to the gods. The shirabyoshi figure evokes the Heian and Kamakura aesthetic and the legends contemporary to the era that portray the Shirabyoshi. Work is signed and sealed by an artist named Nanko. Japanese bronze suiban, or a dish to be filled with viewing stones called suiseki, as well as small plant arrangements. The rim has flower petal incision motifs while the sides are decorated by medallions and a pair of handles shaped like elephant heads. Artist's signature on bottom.

The creator of this lovely Hagi chawan, Hirose Tanga (b. 1939) is the master-potter of Tenpozan kiln in the city of Hagi. When I acquired this piece I thought it reminded me of bowls produced by Yoshida Shuen (apprenticed under NLT Miwa Kyusetsu). As it turns out, Yoshida worked alongside Hirose in establishing Tenpozan and in training young potters in the art of “oni” Hagi which utilizes a rough textured clay and a milky translucent glaze (like the bowl shown here)...

Exquisite glazing featuring a gradation that seems a product of both firing conditions and careful nurture by the artist. This piece displays a wonderful balance and nice sense of three-dimensionality.

In fine condition, this tea bowl measures 4.7 inches in diameter (11.8cm) and stands 3.3 inches tall (8.2cm). The bowl comes with its own wood box with poetic name "朝日" (Asahi) inscribed on the inside cover.

Hand-carved Chinese natural chicken blood blank seal stone. Dimension: 75 x 20 x 20 (mm) or 2.95 x 0.79 x 0.79 inches with total weight 0.19 of lbs/85 grams. Bloodstone is cinnabar strips of dickite, its color is still red cinnabar. Since its color is as red as blood, it is called bloodstone. The earliest discovered bloodstone is Zhejiang Chang ?? rock pheasant bloodstone. Later it was found in Inner Mongolia Chifeng.

An early 20th Century Zisha ("purple clay") teapot with famille rose enamelled decoration depicting the "Three Friends of Winter" - prunus (plumb) blossom, pine tree and bamboo - and also a single bat. A vintage Japanese Okidoko (Tokonoma alcove chest) made of a dense grain Akita Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. Originally it was used to showcase Ikebana flower arrangements, special porcelain vases, Japanese sculptures, or seasonal displays. The cabinet hidden by the sliding doors was used to store tea ceremony paraphernalia such as scrolls, tea bowls and Ikebana vessels.

It will work in a contemporary setting to elevate and display any myriad of items.
