Set of 6 (1930's) Chinese Sterling Silver Tea Cup & Saucer with Melon & Butterfly Marked

The dish is 0.6 inch (1.5 cm) tall by 2.95 inches (7.5 cm) wide. The cup is 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) tall by 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide. The total weight is 369 gram.

They have tarnished silver and surface scratches. One cup has minor bent at the side. Two of the cups have bent at the bottom (as seen in the photos).

This Hobe sterling 14K vermeil floral bouquets of stemmed blooms entwined with ribbons and bows is made in the 1940s. It is 2 3/8" long by 1 5/8" tall x 3/4" deep. Marvelous detail.

Red lacquer and gold sakazuki / sake cup, a ceremonial wine cup. Between the arms of the cross are Japanese signs of good luck. Signed on the back, within the foot rim. Diameter "3 ¼ / 8 cm. Condition: some damp stains (cf. pics).

This is probably an Italian cigarette box. Marked 900 along with another indistinct mark. It would benefit from a polishing. 7-1/4 x 3-1/2"

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead with black body and of numerous white flowers and beautiful ribbed leaves. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Superbly made piece - see finely textured petals and yellow centers of the flowers and fine structures of the leaves, in perfect condition. Height 0.6 inches.

Japanese woodblock print depicting a lone leafless tree at dusk set against a gold leaf background titled "Evening View (Dusk)" by Joichi Hoshi (1913-1979). Vintage chinese wood chair from the 1960s, the wood is carved to imitate bamboo. The back is carved with a design of bamboo leaves. It measures 38" tall, the seat measures 18" deep by 23" wide. 1 of a set of 4, available as a set or individually.

Beautiful study of orchids done with mineral colors and ink on paper. Artist's signature. 20th century. the image measures 18" wide by 26" tall. Overall the scroll measures 23" wide by 65.6" tall. It is mounted on a cream colored geometric print paper with flowers. It is sumie colors on white paper. Signature by Wong Chiu-Ye, circa 1986.

This is an Uzbek embroidered cloth from northern Afghanistan. The motifs and colors are typical of the embroideries of Tajikistan and southern Uzbekistan (Sukhandarya). Cross stitch and satin stitch in pink, green, yellow and blue yellow silk thread. This textile was probably made for a dowry. It measures 29.5 x 30 cm. Condition: Excellent, no fraying, no stains, no odors. Estimated age: mid or late 20th century.

Painted in mirror images with figures surrounded by buildings in a mountainous coastal landscape. The opposite side with grey birds perched upon a slender prunus. Each side and tops of the vase contain texts and poems. Buddhist lion ring side handles complete each vase.

Each vase stands approximately 14-1/4" high by 5-1/4" wide at its fullest point.

The base is recessed and contains a 4 character mark in red.

This agate pendant is 2 ¼” long, 1 ½” wide and 7/8” thick. It is a mid-20th century product. It depicts a small monkey sitting on the top of a large double gourd surrounded by two small lucky bats, some unknown flowers and a smaller gourd. It is in great condition.
