An American "Home Sweet Home" type image of modest home with saying "May every day in every year bless this house with homely cheer", housed in a late 19th century walnut and gilt fillet Victorian style frame. The piece as framed measures 16" by 14". The needlework is in exceptional fresh condition. I am uncertain as to the age of it; I think, younger than the frame. A timeless classic piece for the traditional home.
Japanese Meiji Mixed Metal Vase with flowers and Birds the vase has inlay copper silver and gold as well as leaf and overlay, a fine piece with a few issues one is it has been drilled for a lamp and one handle was loose from the peg hole but now superglued back and fits tight. Beautiful piece even with flaws very heavy as well. Weight is almost 6 pounds h 9.75" diameter 6" not including wood base.

Circa 1925 antique or vintage (about 100 years old!) framed ornate manuscript style ode to the home and house, from the writings of poet and author Maurine Hathaway, with gilt background and intriguing spots of color, measuring 10 1/2" by 9 1/2" fully opened out. The piece is hinged in the middle so is meant to stand on its own on a table top. I do not believe the color and gilt hand applied, though, it gives that appearance. The inspiration is clearly from medieval manuscripts...
Late Qing Dynasty to Republic period (1900s to 1930s) Chinese porcelain covered round box for seal paste with underglaze blue painting of a phoenix in flight among wispy clouds. Excellent quality freehand painting with beautiful washes, in superb condition, was never used, I guess. Four seal style character mark on the bottom. Very quiet subtle piece for scholar’s desk. Diameter 2 1/2 inches.

1960's Chinese green and white jadeite carving of lotus and bamboo on a custom wood stand. A frog is perched on one of the lotus leaves and a bamboo stalk in the background serves to hold calligraphy brushes or fresh flowers. In excellent condition, it measures 7.25" high, on stand 8.75" high, 5.5 across, and about 3.5" deep.

Old mask carved in a very hard wood depicting a benevolent expression face covered with a beautiful and thick black patina. Not remains of animal hairs or horsehair that represented the hairiness of the eyebrows, moustache and chin. Three nails on the forehead were supposed to retain a fragment of leather. The symmetry of the sculpture gives it a smoothing presence. Probably from Western Nepal and the Magar ethnic group. Age is important at least early 20th century H 25 cm n Width 14 cm,
Mask carved in a very hard wood, the design is minimal. However the lines formed by the nose and the continuity with those located above the eyes evoke the shape of a spider. Note a slot on the right of the mask, however well secured by a metal clip. Far north west of Nepal, Humla region, H 34 cm, W 19 cm, age circa mid 20th.
Three small dishes in a soft leaflike shape, in the white and very thinly glazed. From the Revernay pottery (founded in a village with that name around 1900 and moved to Vallauris in southern France after WWII). Many avantgarde ceramists who worked in modernist style – one of them being Picasso – gathered in Vallauris in the 50s and 60s. Width "3 / 7.5 cm. Condition: rim frits to one dish (cf. pics).

Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Beautiful design, wonderful quality glasswork, very pleasant finish. Metal fixture with two loops on the back for an obi cord. Length 1 3/4 inches.
