Important and rather rare ancient statue from West Nepal (Karnali River districts but possibly Jumla region). The statue shows a protector standing with his hands folded in the ritual gesture of Namaste. Note the treatment of the arms showing a rounded rather than angular elbow joint. The eye openings are diamond-shaped. Semi-hard wood with black patina with residual plaster of offerings and mineral plasters which have either been cleaned or lost over time...

Biku, fishing basket, used by a fisherman in rivers. It is made of bamboo strips and urushi painted. It has a cord made of bast fiber. Some spaces between bamboo strips, but no break. in good condition. The first half of the 20th century. H:24cm, W:22cm

A Victorian gold filled rope twist watch chain with a 10k opals slide circa 1890. This 27" chain has two 1/16" strands with a swivel and it includes a crescent shaped 10k yellow gold (unmarked but tested) working 5/16" long slide with four vivid blue/green and orange opals...

Modern sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Tapering sides and flared rim. Short and straight foot. Spare and fluid. Hallmark includes pattern no. 16667F, director’s letter m (1907-47), and wartime star (1943-45). Very good condition.

Signed French Lalique Glass vase, signed "Lalique, France", 6 1/2" high, 4 3/4" wide-widest middle part, 4 1/4" diameter for top rim, very heavy weight and frosted 14 birds inside the deep cut out circles wrapped around with continuing vines, all birds are in different position, with clear glass top and bottom rim. This Lalique vase is in good condition and some small scratches on the bottom from the age, no chips or damage.

Pair of Eisenhower-era sterling silver mint juleps. Made by Scearce in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Straight and tapering sides, and beaded and molded rim and foot. A great way in these tumultuous times to get back in touch with your inner country club Republican. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and presidential date code (DDE) for the years 1953-61. Old hand stitched Indian 'chakla' textile. Kathipa style embroidered in 'heer' floss silk on old cotton base. Undated, estimated to be early 20th century or earlier. 40 inches square. Good condition few missing mirrors. Can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

This jade (nephrite) carving is a mid-20th century product. It is 3” high, 2 ¼” wide (measured from the widest part) and 1” thick. It depicts a playful monkey climbing on top of two pomegranates; a small RuYi (如意) scepter with LingZhi (靈芝) ends rests on the back of the carving. It is in great condition.

Large size gurra, the long stick consists of 4 beautifully carved long strings with an open space between them which demonstrates fine carving craftsmanship. A realistic rope knot is in the middle. The upper part shows two hands grasping the hole. Great sooty patina and obvious signs of heavy use. H 34cm More local information on request

Sixteen American sterling silver mint julep cups. Each: Straight and tapering sides and molded rim. Double linear bands engraved at top and bottom. A big set for one of those parties when the guests keep arriving. Marked “Sterling”. Very good condition.

A pair of hand-carved window frames from Bhaktapur, an ancient Newar city in the Kathmandu Valley. They measure 44 x 45.5 cm and are dated to the late 20th century. Woodwork has been part of Nepal’s traditional architecture and wood carvings have graced temples, monasteries, residential homes and palaces since the twelfth century, although the earliest surviving temple decorated with wood carvings, bears the date 1396...

Rare zoomorphic medicinal vase or water pot, in ceramic with Song Dynasty type Celadon glaze, in the shape of a puffer fish. Vase from the Khmer or Song period, circa 10th/12th century. Depicted as a round bloated fish with ting front fins and large faired tail and a tiny mouth hole similar to a water dropper Angkor region, Cambodia heavy burial staining. , no restoration. Size 3.5" by 4.5"
