1971 was a big year for Haku Maki He did over 100 different images of Japanese prints. Some, like this one, were big prints--this one, Poem 71-91, is 30.5 Inches x 15.25. It is 68/108. This is the abstract kanji for Mu or Nothing and he titled it Nothing The kanji starts at the top then cascades down to the final four strokes at the bottom. From a distance it appears to me like the steps going from top to bottom of a building on a Chinese hill on the Yangzi...

Pair of Eisenhower-era sterling silver mint juleps. Made by Scearce in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Straight and tapering sides, and beaded and molded rim and foot. A great way in these tumultuous times to get back in touch with your inner country club Republican. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and presidential date code (DDE) for the years 1953-61. Very good condition.

This small jade (nephrite) carved brush washer is 2 3/8” long, 1 3/8” high and 1 3/4” thick. It is a mid-20th century product. It depicts a pomegranate surrounded by a peach branch and leaves. It is in excellent condition.

Japanese woodblock print by the artist Amano Kazumi. The print depicts a lively scene of a banquet in the entertainment district with geishas and other performers. Some geishas dance while others serve sake while the men eat, drink and enjoy. The print is signed and dated 1957. Total size in frame: 19" high x 47" wide. Size of image: 12" high x 41" wide.

Vintage Japanese wooden okimono carved in a shape of a doll of Zen Patriarch Daruma enveloped in his monastic robe. Good size and unusually fat sculpture carved out of chosen matsu (Korean pine wood), its face done in ittobori (one cut) style characteristic of Hida school with clever use of wood colors and structure to add to the charm of the piece. Excellent sense of volume, pupils are inlaid with metal, beautiful patina. Signed on the back with 2 characters that can be read as KOKUEI...

Large size gurra, the long stick consists of 4 beautifully carved long strings with an open space between them which demonstrates fine carving craftsmanship. A realistic rope knot is in the middle. This vintage amethyst Knickerbocker figurine or novelty stem is by Morgantown Glass from the 1940s. It features a crystal clear stem of man in a top hat wearing a monocle (looks like the Planter Peanut's man.) The flared art deco amethyst blown bowl darkens as it forms the base, that is then attached to the stem. The foot is also amethyst and is blown, finished glass that is also attached to the clear stem He stands 5 1/4" high and is in perfect, unused condition. Highly collectible...
