This carved ivory okimono of Daikoku is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a smiling Daikoku holding a mallet (Japanese called Uchide no Kozuchi) or a lucky hammer over his head in his left hand. In his right hand, he holds a cloth bag of rice. Daikoku is one of seven gods or immortals in Japanese culture. He represents wealth and fortune. It is 5 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ½” thick. A large 20th century tribal intricately carved wooden model of Soul Boat from a Pacific islands. The interior is mounted with three detachable figures of seated warrior ancestors with their heads raised toward the heavens.
Two large mythical guardians of the spirit world hold a boat transporting the souls of the dead to the afterlife. Each side of the boat is carved with two lizards. The boat is bolted to a wooden plinth...

Unusual moss agate. It is carved all around with two scenes. One scene, a sage walks over a bridge. The opposite side the sage walks by a young boy with a horse. It measures 3.25" tall 2.75" wide.
Chinese landscape painting of a mountain pavilion nestled in among twisting pines, a river winds it's way through the rocks creating two waterfalls - one in the upper left of the composition and the other in the lower right below the pavilion, all done black ink on paper, signed Zhao Tsungwu, early to mid 20th century. Provenance: from the estate of the late actor James Coburn.
