An English Bursley Ware bowl by Charlotte Rhead, 1940s, of square shape. Slip-glaze decoration in the Carnations or T. L. 40 pattern in blue and gilt on off-white, marbled ground. Factory mark and TL 40 = pattern number and the mark of the painter who applied the raised decoration, Mary Powell. Height "2¼/ 6 cm, width (diagonally) "4¾/ 12 cm. Condition: fine. Stylish and very art deco Showa Period C.1930 bronze hanging lamp. The top has undulating waves in the cast and is attached to the body by rings. The the top lip of the main body has holes at intervals and the main body has almost what looks like kanji japanese characters with rice paper covering.
