Japanese 20th century wooden carving OKIMONO of USOBUKI in a seated position and telling a lie. The OKIMONO measures 8" tall, 7 3/8" wide and 6" deep.

This 1980 Japanese carved wood and walrus fisherman is 5 ¾” high, 2” wide and 2 ¼” thick. It depicts a smiling fisherman; one handing is holding a fish, another hand is holding a net. He carries a basket full of fish on his back. The fisherman’s body was carved from walrus; his robe and pants were carved from hard wood. The carver’s signature was placed on a piece of a red rectangular carnelian inlayed into the round wood base...

Vintage Japanese woodblock print by moku hanga style artist Fumio Fujita (1933-present). He graduated the Musashino College of Fine Arts in 1955 and began making woodblock prints in 1963. This piece is easily attributed to Fujita as he is well-known for using trees as a focal point. He combines scenic imagery with abstract geometric figures, using bold color combinations...

Kazak hand knotted rug made of wool from the middle east. Beautiful central medallion with blue, red and green design on a pale yellow/cream colored ground. The border has unusual medallion shaped design in red with blue, blue with yellow, and light pink with green. It measures 8' by 10'8".

Mashiko wares gained worldwide popularity through the connection with National Living Treasure potter Shoji Hamada, who settled in this town of pottery and agriculture in the 1920's. Japanese Kamakura Bori fish dish or tray. Finely hand carved in the shape of a red sea bream using the Kamakura lacquer technique, this dish was made for Fitz & Floyd in the 1970's. In excellent condition, it measures 15" long, 6" at widest point.

Wonderful 1960’s sterling silver concho belt by a very fine Navajo silversmith of N.P, c. 1950s-60s.

Unusally large and heavy plus very ornate with particularly fine select large torquise stones mounted on 12 Conches and the massive buckle.

The belt measure 130 cm. length and weighs 932 grams, almost a kilo. Probably the largest we've seen for sale and the high weight must be due to the larger size of the Conchos and buckle.

Kokeshi, folk toy of NE Japan. Wood, Height 8.25". Naruko-kei, Miyagi Prefecture. Made by Satou Minoru, born Dec. 27, 1932. This kokeshi probably dates from the 1970's.

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 3.75". This is an example of the "Naruko-kei" tradition of Miyagi Prefecture. This particular shape was called an "ezuko" (basket child) in the local Miyagi vernacular. The artisan was Sakurai Shouji, who was born on January 1st, 1927 (Showa 2.) It is not dated, but was most likely made during the 1960's or 1970's. Gorgeous Chinese jade plaque set within a zitan wood stand, carved with an abundance of dragons and spiral/wave motifs. The backside of the jade is smooth with three gilt painted dragons. Size: 16" height, 26" width, 8" depth

Japanese Boy's Day samurai Yoroi and Kabuto (armor,helmet) set. Musha ningyo (Samurai dolls), Yoroi and Kabuto (helmet), swords, banners and carps are a part of the display used for the Boy's Day in Japan. Culturally, the Japanese emphasize anything to do with children. The Girl's day with hina dolls is in March. The warrior's set like this will inspire boys in their manliness and hopefully bravery, discipline and honor codes come with it.
