A beautiful early 20th C. Chinese wooden dragon style brush pen hanger, it's combined with 3 parts and it also turns, in very good condition, but few small wood sticks are missing (please see the photo), it's easy to replace. H:18"

This is a vintage Japanese pottery tea bowl of Hagi ware, which was made by the great potter, the 14th Shinbei Sakakura (1917-1975) about 60 years ago. The glaze has a variaton of light red and grayish colors, intermitted by golden lines of the kintsugi.

He was one of the greatest potters of Hagi ware, who was identified as an important human cultural treasure of Yamaguchi prefecutre, Japan in 1972.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom...

The natural ash Hagi glaze gives this piece a mellow yet robust feel. The foot of the bowl is unglazed in places showing traces of ferrous-rich clay in the form of an orangish hue. The sides of the bowl show pale ash, ivory, and faint hints of lavender. Overall a classic and attractive example of an expertly crafted Hagi tea bowl.

The creator of this work, Korai-zaemon Saka XI was born in Yamaguchi prefecture in 1912...

A vintage Japanese Kamo Kimono Biraki Tansu in 2 sections made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hardware and natural finish. Upper section has 2 sliding doors behind which lies a split level shelf and 2 small drawers with a pair of hinged doors that hides 4 full width Kimono trays. The bottom section has 3 side by side drawers and 3 full width drawers below.

An iconic Bizen sake set by legendary artist and Living National Treasure Kaneshige Toyo enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the pre-war era titled Inbe yaki Tokuri. The bottle is delicately rendered and features the play of colors and textures for which he would be known, with a dark gray rim, while the cup is thinly made in a warm orange tinge. Both bear his fundo stamp on the bottom...

Superb Murano glass figurines by Alfredo Barbini. A colleague in Venice who is a dealer in Vintage Murano Glass told me he witnessed these figurines being made at the Barbini factory in the 1950's. They are in good condition: the red coated Moor at 10" tall is in pristine condition and the white suited one at 13.5" has a repair at the rear neck area which is not so apparent...

Japanese Isho Ningyo of an Oiran, the most important Geisha of the Kyoto Geisha quarter. The book and movie 'Memoirs of a Geisha' is the story of an Oiran. This master work is truly a work of art to behold, and is by one of Japan's foremost doll makers, the late Ito Hisashige XI. A baby carrier belt made of indigo dye cotton for warp and washi (Japanese handmade paper) yarn for weft. It is made in Shonai region in Yamagata district in Tohoku. In good condition with beautiful tassels but the seam loose part in one selvedge (30cm). The first half of the 20th century. 13.5cm x 3m60cm

This is beautiful piece that can be used as a candlestick holder or a small vase. It has a lovely Scandinavian, flowing design. Made of sterling silver, it stands 5 1/8" tall. Its base has a diameter of 3". It weighs 3 ounces. The base is marked with a whale hallmark and marked DENMARK. I have left it unpolished. It is truly beautiful and in excellent condition.
