Pre Assay piano hinge silver pill or stamp box stamped and marked: Silver Made in Mexico. A sculptural Green form by Yamazaki Akira (Yamazaki Koyo II, b. 1927), one of several enigmatic works we have acquired by this artist dating from the 1970s to early 80s. With the right lighting we can see a pattern of large black spots under the glaze on the bottom half of the body reminding me of the flintstones. The vase is 17 x 7-1/2 x 10 inches (43 x 19 x 25 cm) tall and in fine condition, signed on the base Akira. There is no box...

This is an unused, "New Old Stock", Pharmacy or Drug Store display from the 1940-1950's era. It is complete with 6 full boxes of "Mckesson and Robbins" tablets.

This cute size display measures 4.5" x 3.75" closed and is in very nice condition. The top lifts up to facilitate advertisement of the product and would have been placed on the counter top of a pharmacy in this fashion. A neat find!

Rare woman’s skirt (pukhang) from the Kachin/Jingpo ethnic group, Northeast Burma. This is two panels with supplementary weft trim on the ends made of dog hair. Mostly natural dye and indigo. It is quite a durable weave with denim like feel. There is some staining, one small hole as well as a bit of dye bleeding. I could only find examples this in “Textiles of the Hill Tribes of Burma”: Michael C. Howard (plate 107) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art: Accession Number: 2002.312...

Sterling Silver tray made in Austria c. 1925. It is perfectly matched with its removable glass bottom. It measures 14.5" in length including the handles, and 9.75" across. The cut to fit glass base is 11.5" long by 8.75" wide. It has four ball shaped feet. The overall weight of the sterling without the glass is about one pound.

The fine crackled feldspar glazing of this Hagi composition contrasts nicely with the red ferrous clay of the base and the wrought silver globe resting atop. Along the lower half can be seen a geometric windowed pattern giving this incense burner a sense of dimensionality.
